We'll have Glocks, $15/hour, plus ammo. Long-guns= $30/hour. See you tomorrow or Thursday!Mindflayer wrote:I'm taking my team to the range on Thursday afternoon (probably going on Wednesday by myself as well...) as a team building exercise. Do you guys still do rentals? They'll probably just shoot my weapons, but they may want to rent a "Glock" or a "Glock" or a "Glock".
Oh, and will Range 1 be open? They want to shoot my AR.
I think you can chalk that one up to pure rumor mill. They are closed on Monday & Tuesday and IDPA matches scheduled through next month (March).jrswanson1 wrote:So what's going on there now? I read on MD Shooters that SEG is closed and laid everyone off?

I heard about the personnel shuffle as well. No idea how it may affect range operations though. I'm signed up for an IDPA match mid next month.gunderwood wrote:jrswanson1 wrote:So what's going on there now? I read on MD Shooters that SEG is closed and laid everyone off?

They charged me for February so I doubt that, but I wasn't able to go last week so who knows.
I don't think they were ever closed. I think they are just changing management from what I am hearing.jrswanson1 wrote:Link: http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=50628
Tom Perroni says they will reopen soon under new ownership?

Dear Valued Customer,
I would like to take the opportunity to inform you that the Silver Eagle Group is in the process of restructuring in order to improve your firearms and training experience.
Recently we have changed management and are going through some other internal reorganization. Most of these changes involve our administrative structure and will be invisible to our customers. Things you might notice immediately will be improvements to the facility, with additional training opportunities and more product selection in our store coming soon.
As always our commitment is to you, our customer. The Silver Eagle Group will continue to be the premier shooting and training facility in Northern Virginia. We appreciate your understanding as we go thru these improvements, and welcome your comments and suggestions. It is our goal to offer training and recreation that is safe and educational while promoting awareness and community safety. Please join us in our transition by sharing both positive and negative experiences you have had and how we can better meet your needs.
If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or drop by and see me the next time you are in the facility.

How about gunsmithing? Or did they surrender their FFL? A 01 not doing retail sales or transfers will have some difficulty come renewal time... Oh wait, maybe that's where the political contributions come in. Clever business plan!Riana wrote:They are NOT doing transfers anymore, either.
You haven't been there in a while then. Things have changed. I went Sat after a ~6mth break. Bright, well lit, serious improvement to the airhandlers, and an RO on the range at all times.Polkhigh wrote: I refuse to go to BRA for the lack of ROs and the nasty range they have.
You're right, I haven't been there in a while. I went several times while trying to decide memberships between BRA and SEG. Ultimately picked SEG for their cleaner facilities, state of the art ventilation system (at least that was what I was told) and minimal wait at the time. Good to hear they made improvements, at times it felt like I came out of a sauna after shooting for 30 mins.Gtone wrote:You haven't been there in a while then. Things have changed. But they still don't have those sequence programmable carriers like SEG. Those are fun.
