I think that's hardly a fair comparison since VGOF is 16 months old and mdshooters has been registered since 2005.
I'm not trying to throw stones, it's just a lot more active. When I was thinking about buying the P-6 I posted some questions here and got no repiles other than visit a sig fourm...I posted the same thread on mdshooters and got 3 pages of replies. I didn't know this fourm was so new, it's funny casue here in va we have so many more rights and freedom's when it comes to gun's than MD does, those guys over there are trying really hard to make changes in MD law....but man do they have a tough go at it. but it's a great site quite a few folks that no longer live in MD still post ...it's a great community... I'm surte this one will only get bigger and better
Maybe that is because in MD they can only talk about owning guns, while here in VA we are out at the range...jk.

man there's some truth in that jest, did you know that there is a "approved hand gun list" in maryland ...stupid 20 round mag rule..no ccw..well may issue not shall issue...it's horible I can't or won't even start about baltimore...such a cess pool and a big reason (that and PG county) for many of Md's anti-guns laws.. I'm so happy to be here in Va....

You think Maryland's restrictive? Try California, from which I originally came! It's like I've heard a lot of New Yorkers say, "it's a great place to be FROM."
VAGunForum is still pretty new. Vern told me about it at the VCDL booth about 4 months back, and that's about when I signed up here. Give it time, and it'll grow.
And as for range time vs. forum time...I have to agree. In California, I could never, *ever* be at the range as often as I am nowadays. To even *find* a range in the San Francisco area is a challenge, and that's especially true if you want to sight in your deer rifle. Ever since the Mulford Act of 1968, it's been hell (gee, thanks, Gov. Reagan).
Virginia's not perfect, far from it. But I'm glad to be living here now, just the same.
BTW, nice gun porn there.

Funny how it nearly feels that way compared to the most of the other States. Reminds of a line I heard once (paraphrasing):
Saying America is "free" is like saying you are the least sickly patient in a cancer ward, with out a miracle you're still going to die, but you might live a little bit longer than everyone else.

Quoted for the depressing truth.

Funny how places like Prince Georges County MD, Baltimore, and Washington DC with the the most strict gun control laws have the highest number of gun related offenses over places like VA where gun ownership and gun carry laws are more permissible.
I should not admit to this, but I used to live in Maryland, and I was a DC Cop for many years. Funny that while I was a MD resident and sworn police officer, I qualified for a Conceal Carry permit in MD, but did not need it. The police badge was enough to carry my issued service weapon in MD. As soon as I left the police department, MD would not issue the permit to me. So basically MD will issue permits to people that do not really need the permit, like sworn police. My friend owns a company and carries large sums of cash to the bank for deposit. They would not even issue a limited permit to him for those deposit runs!!

well the areas around PG county and Baltimore have become terrible beyond belief... Charles county where I lived for some time was a nice place very quiet then came the DC and PG county invasion and litteraly all hell broke loose....thank god I'm away from that mess
