Seriously, how many people merely read the news on this one and walk away telling their friends about another right wing nut with a gun that went berserk...
Your statements does not make sense to me. I read the post and others online. Perhaps you read too much into my statement. Either way, congrats on your 7000+ posts.
I was being sarcastic. The point is that many folks merely see the reported news, take it at face value and walk away thinking it is indeed the truth. Thankfully, many of us know better.

It must have been too late for me last night. Perhaps, I was the one, as usual, reading too much into the post. Thanks DK for the clarification.
Also, my prayers and condolences to the Army vet and his family.

It appears Costco had
no signs posted at this store indicating their no-guns policy.
Stated near end of below video:

No problem. Mine too. This is indeed a tragedy no matter how its sliced. And, I tend to believe the commenter claiming to be the friend of his girl friend...

Wow! No sign and someone claims you are not allowed to carry in Costco.
-1 for Costco being uniformed
-1 for Costco having workers ignorant about gun laws
-1 for Costco attempting to hide their ignorance about the situation by saying guns were not aloud
-1 to person who called police
-3 to the three police that shot him
-300 to police if Scott never pulled his gun but they are covering up their mess up
+3 to gun owners on that video
-1 to Clark county if they really make people register their guns

It seems that you are sure about what happend with the Police Officers and that you are condeming them for shooting the guy. Myself I can't and won't do the same untill I have the whole and truthfull story. Remember opinion's are like buttholes everyone has one. Some are right and some are wrong.

Here's a follow-up to this that I read this morning. The local PD there ruled the shooting as justified after a six day long inquest.

Agreed. This is a horrible story with a result likely due to mistakes made on both sides. From what I understand, the police issued contradictory commands to Scott, simultaneously telling him, "Drop it," and "hands up."
Michael Bane and Rob Pincus discussed this a couple of nights ago on Bane's podcast and it's certainly a lot to ponder for anybody who ccws.
The podcast is here:
http://www.downrange.tv/blog/down-range-radio-180/6221/
Bane's discussion on his forum is here:
http://www.downrange.tv/forum/index.php?topic=14121
The key advice Bane gives is the following:
"On confrontations with the police, I think we're probably on the same page here — DROP THE GUN, if it's in your hand; if it's not in your hand, KEEP YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND MAKE NO MOVE TOWARD YOUR HOLSTERED GUN! Do exactly as you're told! If you're taken into custody, ASK FOR YOUR LAWYER and then SHUT UP!"
and
First and foremost, the "Mike O'Day Rule" is immediately in effect:
"Here lies the grave of Mike O'Day
Who died maintaining his right of way
His right was clear
And his will was strong
But he's just as dead as if he'd been wrong"
While we are certainly concerned with the rightness and wrongness of our actions and the actions of others, our primary focus is EXACTLY as it is in a violent encounter — to get you and ours out alive. A secondary consideration is to get you and yours and NOT go directly to jail. I think, in fact, that it is prudent to treat an encounter like this as a Condition Red situation, with — as we saw in Las Vegas — a potential to go from zero to lethal very quickly.
I can't say that I disagree with Bane. The Mike O'Day rule also applies to that bit of nastiness up in Wisconsin.
A lot to chew. The Erik Scott story absolutely scares the living @#$^ out of me when it comes to carrying.
