Please understand that I've had a couple....OK, a few.

Miss America is a smoking hot Muslim who (according to some stories I read today) has won a Detroit Stripper Pole Competition and MAY have been in a soft porn video. She's a citizen, pays her taxes & loves puppies.

I see no harm, no foul here. Will I still be welcome at SGT Bill's SnG if I revealed my Physician is a Muslim Lesbian? Tru fact kids. She has the uncanny ability to sit down, shut up & listen. Diagnosed my Mom's heart problem when the Navy's Best waved it off as "wimmin problems."

See, there's this big hunk o'copper in NY Harbor. Perhaps you've seen it.

Image

She's inviting the desperate of the world to a New Hope. HOWEVER, they have to Play The Game. Fill out the forms, pay the taxes, abide by the laws . . . or GTFO. Remember the one true fact of all of us - we're immagrants. All'n us. Unless your name is Crowfoot Newmoon. Some of us are really OLD immagrants. Some, very new. But very few are native to North America.

Miss America - you DO judge this book by its cover and nothing more. She competes for Miss Universe & Miss World for the Stars & Stripes. The world looks for eye-candy and little more.

Oh, and if you think 7-11 cuppa joe is "A-OK"... yeah - Patriot Card YANKED. Southland Corp is a huge anti 2-A firm.

EDIT: I OWN PAGE 2!!!

I have not heard anything about her religion either. Unless there is anything to the contrary she is as American as anybody, with Lebanese heritage. And Lebanese are not considered Arabs; they were at some point the most progressive, most pro-Western country in the Middle East....called the Paris of the Middle East; some of the Lebanese elites even speak French (whether we like the French or not, but that's another story). Lebanon was a favorite tourist spot before all the chaos began. So I am not surprised at Ms. Fakih's pro-Western outlook. I have also known and have friends who are Christians -- Catholics, in fact. So before we refer to her as Muslim-American, let's do our research. She could be as Christian as many of us here; as American as most of us here. She will be representing U.S.A. in the Miss Universe contest NOT as a Lebanese-American but as an American, period. And she will need our support. I won't judge her (but I won't mind being a judge in the Miss Universe contest either).

Googling around, news reports have said that Miss USA 2010 is Muslim... and a pole dancer. I don't think it really matters.

Equating all Muslims with the extremes of Islam just generalizes over a large group of people who are quite decent folk. My son's daycare provider is a practicing Muslim... and a naturalized American citizen. She doesn't say she's Pakastani, she says she is American and takes pride in her citizenship. She gives kids presents on Christmas and Easter every year. Hardly the actions of a radical.

You couldn't have said it better. Nobody here knows this, but I am an American of Lebanese descent. My great grandmother and great great grandmother came by way of Ellis Island. Since then the family has grown by several hundred and we are ALL as American as one can get. I will mention that we are also Christian. There is a HUGE difference between Christian lebanese and muslim lebanese. We HATE Hezbollah and anyone like them.

Please be careful when associating Lebanese with muslims.

These illegals at the 7-11 can hang out there all day, harass and bother everyone, including our kids walking to school, drink in public, urinate in public, throw trash on the ground, lower the quality of life for all of us, and the authorities are afraid to do anything about it.
You know I like 7-11 coffee and they are usally a gun friendly kinda place. Might be a nice place for folks to OC on Saturday mornings. You know hang out and drink coffee outside and have a good conversation. I am sure there are a few that like coffee here in NOVA.

I love 7-11 coffee and I live in Springfield...lots of "7-11s" here and in Annandale...we can chat and I can tell "anyone" who listens I work for the government...several years ago when I lived in AZ and did that "they" walked away very quickly...

If I weren't already seeing someone....

IF YOU DON'T WANT THAT PRETTY GIRL 'CAUSE SHE'S A MUSLIM, THEN GTF-OUTTA MY WAY, 'CAUSE I DO!!!

She is stunningly beautiful. And I don't give a damn what her religion is.

Got to agree with you on this one. Problem is that I don't think my wife of 25 years would like it very much either. She is sure pleasing to look at though.

I'm catching up on my forum reads, so apologies for necro-posting...

As I understand it, this woman's family immigrated to the U.S.A. when she was seven years old. That would mean she's lived here for 17 years. She emigrated from Lebanon.

I cannot find any sources to cite that can prove her citizenship in the U.S. If she's not, in fact, a U.S. citizen, then I don't feel she is eligible to represent the U.S. in any capacity.

If, on the other hand, she is a citizen of this country, then she's the winner. End of story.

Or is the Miss USA pageant only for white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant women born in the United States?
Sorry if this is overly sarcastic. I guess it was the post's title that caught my attention.

:coffee:

edit: I neglected to mention that I wouldn't mind her starring in a bit of :lovegunporn: photo ops... Yowsa! (oops, here comes my wife...)

Agreed. If these pageants ended today this minute, I wouldn't lose any sleep.

If when her parents immigrated to the United States they became naturlized citizens then she also became a US citizen as a minor.

If the official rules for the Miss USA pageant do say this, then I'd imagine that they'd have checked that paperwork before she was allowed to compete. Otherwise, why have the rule?

We don't bother to check if the President can serve or not, why would we bother for a beauty contest?

I've been looking for an excuse to bump this thread, and now I've found it.

Guess which Muslim-American woman is against the Ground Zero Mosque?.

http://weaselzippers.us/2010/08/20/musl ... ro-mosque/

Yep, it's Miss USA Rima Fikah. It would seem that she's smart and beautiful  :shower:

(The original title of this thread is incorrect. She is Miss USA, not Miss America)

People, please give this "Miss Shiite Muslim America" nonsense a rest, because that's exactly what it is. Rima is a beautiful (OMG GORGEOUS!), intelligent woman who I'll bet will represent the United States extremely well at the Miss Universe pageant. Who knows--she might actually win the thing! Miss USA's have done it several times before....

UPDATE: The pageant was this Monday, the 23rd. Unfortunately, Miss USA didn't win this time, nor did she place in the semi-finals. But at least she went for it.
