this is what happened. We have a rogue government, run by an out of control elite political class. It is time for change alright. Oh and Vern, if you joined the tea party movement, you are now a member of a racist, sepratist militia, who is anti-government and has radical racist tendencies.....thats what it is being transformed into by the Federal Government, with a great deal of help from the media and the Southern law and Poverty center .

Well I guess if I believe in the Constitution, my country, and the Republic for which this great countries flag still stands for and belive that the many of this countries Fathers, Sons, Brothers, and now even Mothers, Sisters, and Daughters have fought and died for was not in vain but to protect the American way of life, and because I am a member of an organization that stands for those freedoms then so be it.
I think that I will be in GOOD Company and welcome all who stand for the same.
Oh By The Way are you saying that the CAIR organization is not a radical group look at what they stand for this was posted in one of the other threads.
"for those unfamiliar with CAIR, CAIR is an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian organization founded in 1928 that today boasts divisions throughout the world. The Brotherhood has been operating in the United States since the 1960s in a manner fully consistent with its motto: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.” Its website makes no bones about the fact that it seeks “the introduction of the Islamic Shariah as the basis for controlling the affairs of state and society.”
I think that about says it all on the CAIR subject

@Vern - I'm with you Vern and some great stuff you said. I too feel that both mainstream parties have had it and there is much corruption on both sides. The problem with a third party right now (like Constitutionalists) is its not quite caught on yet with enough people. I'd love to see the Constitutionalists take over for a while and get us back on track.
What we have to do now is unseat the leftist socialists. If they get replaced with republicans so be it. Right now we are down to damage control and are sinking fast. We need to get our country to the point where she will stay afloat and steer away from leftist politics. The mess can be cleaned up later...
I'm sure we'll see a couple of TEA partiers get elected this fall and hopefully a couple of other third party candidates. If so, lets hope they outshine the 2 big parties and start a real movement with voters....
And lets pray that the dems dont pull any fast ones by perberting the Constitution as a platform to remain in power even if the people speak otherwise...

IMHO, that
is the problem. You still think that R's vs. D's matters. You think R's are damage control instead of more damage just of a different kind. We've been through radial left wing changes before, we elect R's and what changes? Nothing. The R's tweak it some, it becomes the new status quo, and we end up worse off. Name me one big radical left wing change, social program, etc. that the R's revoked? On the contrary, I can point to multiple examples of the just the opposite.
1. Assault Rifle Ban? Nope, had to wait 10 years and if it wasn't for the sunset we would still have it.
2. Social Sec. Nope, Bush just wanted to give it to his friends on Wall Street.
3. Medicare. That's right they expanded it under Bush with that whole prescription drug mess. That's giving it to them R's!
4. Despite popular mythology, Reagan didn't cut social spending, he roughly doubled it! Another knockout punch for left wing ideology!
I could go on and on. The fact is, both parties are corrupt beyond belief. There are very few R's worth voting for on a national stage, a few more at the state level. On the whole, they are just as bad as the D's, just in a different way. Both parties are destroying our Constitution. Third parties never happen because too many people say, I agree with them, but I'll wait till they can win to join. Guess what? They never do because everyone is waiting!
The two parties want you to believe that it is either one or the other and the otherone is evil. Keeps everyone in line.

Exactly.
Judge Andrew Napolitano writes about this in his new book, "Lies the government told you".... in it he points out that there really is no diference between the two parties at all, both have been gradually steering this ship towards socialism for a very long time. He also advocates for an immediate return to the "Founders Vision" of governance. Small, unintrusive government by the people, and returned to the people at regular intervals, ie;
STRICT TERM LIMITS, NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS!!!
both D's and R's have been ruling this country and robbing its fortunes for decades. They sit up there on their thrones and look down at the commoners with condemnation. They consistently speak ill of the peasant class which is to freakin busy "turning the wheel" to actually respond to all the attacks being levied against us by these self centered thieves. They ALL, sit on advisory boards and committees and make legislation that enriches their own family businesses at the expense of the common man. Many of these "elected" officials go to Washington as thousand-aires, and come home MILLIONAIRES. We are actually at a place in History, a first time in American history, where the PEOPLE are AFFRAID to speak against the government. If someone would have told me that we would end up here, I might have gone to canada too.

@gunderwood - the point I'm trying to make is the way things are going right now is to get obama out period. If he gets replaced with a republican that does other kind of damage thats fine with me as long as we get rid of him. Then we can do damage control.
Here's the deal. Republicans cause damage yes. Lets use an analogy. Republicans eat all the food and thats a big problem. They dont help grow or provide more. Leftist democrats dont care about eating the food. They destroy the mechanism that produces food. They poison the wells. They take the food and let it rot. They make rules so you cant make your own food. They make you stand in long lines for moldy bread.
I prefer the first. We the people cannot function under the latter. If we all, collectively, get off our sorry butts and do what we are supposed to - run the country and make these twits represent and work for us - then we can herd the republicans until some folks with Godly morals and character that love our country and Constitution can assume these positions. Then - we the people continue to do the same. I dont think our Founders had any intention of setting up the country so congress could run like an unattended clock.
Thats the reason we are having this discussion. Not becuase of Rs and Ds.
ITS BECAUSE WE THE PEOPLE HAVE SAT ON OUR SORRY ASSES AND LET ALL THIS HAPPEN OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL DECADES.............
I know I might not be making much sense but I'm ticked. I'm ticked at everything thats going on. I ticked because we let it happen. I'm ticked at all the finger pointing, name calling, denying, accusing, etc, etc, etc.
But you know what - none of this matters anymore...it simply does not.

I agree and that was what my long rant above was all about. the problem is here in Virgina who are we going to get to run Connely and all the others out of the House and then we need to get Web and Warrner voted out of the Senate. Connelly would not even take a call or send a generic answer to an email saying that he recieved it. We need to Vote the Bad Representives out of the House this year in November and I don't care if they are Republicans or Democrats if they are not doing the will of the people then they need to go this year. This also goes for the state and local goverment as well. The Virgina State Senate is a good place to start cleaning house. We now have an honorable man as the new Govener of our fine state now is the time to provide him some support.
The whole problem is to this is finding the Right people to fill the seat and then hold true to thier promises
