I would ask if thats why Marines are called jarheads but that would only serve to earn me several smacks not only to the back of the head but probably all over...

I knew that was coming Bill. Surely you know that "Queen" refers to the game of chess - the most powerful piece on the board. The King is arguably the weakest piece needing the most protection...

Sorry DK but my mind can't get around the game of Chess, but as a Marine It did get around the use of weapons large and small and how to be one of the best in their use.

All I know is that when an infantry squad is taking heavy fire they seem awful happy to see an Apache Longbow helicopter pull up to a hover above them and unload 1100 rounds of 30mm with a couple of 2.75 rockets and hellfire missile thrown in for good measure. Now having said that I can also say I have nothing but the deepest respect for the courage and skill of the infantry, artillery and heavy cavalry. Attack helicopter pilots and their crew are known to be confident/cocky but that is true with any mos/specialty in the military. We all know we are the biggest, baddest, roughest, toughest bunch on the battlefield. But it's usually the pay clerk that humbles us all. And it never hurts to be in the good graces of the cooks.

Re: Taurus .327
Graybeard, do you shoot .32 H&R magnum or 32S&WL thru yours? I called Taurus today to check if they said it was ok to shoot and the customer service rep said no. He said to only shoot .327. Now I am not sure if that's just to keep sales up in .327 or what because I have already shot 100 rounds of .32S&WL thru mine with no issues other than some grains of sand/powder in the chamber/cylinder after shooting. Also, have you tried the Speer gold dot bullets in yours? I was wondering how you liked them if you have. Thanks, John

I never got to see spooky but my uncle told me when he was a Ranger they loved em. Said the tracer fire was like watching it rain lead. My son is trying to get into West Point in three years and he wants to be either Infantry or Heavy Cavalry. He hopes to be Airborne like my Uncle. I love rappelling but jumping out of planes just wasn't my thing. I hope I get a chance to meet some of you guys at a meet and shoot event sometimes, I don't know many vets around here and it will be fun to BS with like minded folks.

I saw a puff demo once and would love to watch a spooky. Have also seen A-10 and vulcans in action. Completely and totally awesome. I've ridden on many choppers but have never seen an Apache light anything up. A little after my time...

In all honesty I wish you did. I'd rather be back there than here...even with the little chinese guy that invented gunpowder was probably a better place...SgtBill wrote:Nope! read about y'all in a history book along with some dude named Crockett.
