Welcome from another old NY'er. Spent most of my time in NY, moved to FL for 8 years, been in VA for going on 15 years. Yup, this is a place to stay. I'm in NOVA. Yes it's pricy and you'd have a hard time even finding a big enough chunk of land to shoot on. We could use another conservative here though!

I know a few mechanics and if you're a good one you'll definatley make some good money down here as much as the local shops charge. As for land....if you need that either go to loudon county before it's ALLL gone, or head south and avoid the majority of the antis. oh and welcome.
