OK, back to OP; if you are carrying a .22, I'd suggest moving up a few notches in caliber; while a .22 or .25 will do damage - if placed correctly; a .22 for self-defense leaves some lacking in the power category, though any gun is better than no-gun.
Agree with the other posters on carry requirements; if you OC, make sure that to the naked eye there is little "discussion" or "interpretation" that what you are carrying is a firearm. No matter what you carry, make sure your holster's retention and your SA are on point at all times.

You're right..any gun is better than no-gun. For people who don't think a .22 will do damage, I ask if they want to stand in front of me and prove it. I haven't had too many takers yet.
besides, it's fun.....
and CHEAP!
