I just spent some time in Eastern TN and NE Mississippi and they are used for target practice there regularly.

Since both coyotes and liberals have been referred to in this thread, please clarify what is used for target practice. Coyotes, liberals, or both.

I've seen the Coyotes in Alexandria and Arlington. They are also in DC mostly in Rock Creek Park. No, not the Congresscritters, but real live Coyotes.

Seen them in Fauquier. My taxidermist corrected me one day and said they're "coy dogs" not coyotes. He sounded pretty convincing when he described the anatomical differences. Any input there?
Either way, the fox hunters in Fauquier tell me they'll pay $50 or $100 if you bring 'em a dead one. Apparently they kill the foxes which ruins their "hunting." Not that I care about fox hunting that much, but money is money.

I stand corrected. We do have some coyotes around here. Time for a little suburban pest control

Hmmm, Bassproshops is running a sale on varmint guns. Maybe I should look into one. Predator hunting sounds like a lot of fun.

I have seen coyotes two times in Ashburn and one in Loudon county near the landfill. Doesn't compare to the the times I've seen black bear in Lansdowne. The coyotes were seen while driving, the bears were seen (from an uncomfortably close range) while mountain biking.

I'm not sure what surprises me more: The fact that coyotes can drive, or that bears can ride a mountain bike?

Growing up in Illinois, we used to chase down coyotes on snowmobiles in the winter. I guess coyotes don't ride snowmobiles here either, eh?

A hunting buddy in Amelia County hunts coyotes. He's a hero with the local farmers!

I just talked to an old hunting buddy and evidently they have a large number of them all around the Yorktown, Williamsburg areas. He told me a friend was walking his dog last week near Yorktown and one came out of the woods and attacked the dog. The dog was an old Jack Russel but couldn't handle the 'yote. Vet had to put the dog down because of his injuries. I just may have to look into finding a place that will let me hunt them.

Supposedly we have them up this way (Fairfax Co.), too. The authorities are aware of them. I've yet to actually see one, and from what I've heard they're typically unlikely to approach a human. So far, I've only seen fox.
