Just curious; why Adams County? Is the Sheriff known to be gun friendly?

Yes, Sir. He is very Pro-2A and has stated that while 2 to 3 weeks is expected turn-around, he is going to make every effort for a 1 week turn-around when possible.
Also, while there are other Pro-2A Sheriffs in PA who are also doing what they can to allow lawful self-defense, Adams is one of the closest to VA. Since we have to go there in person to get our picture taken, pay the fee and get the permit, I figure the shorter the drive, the better.

Ah, good to know. I'll be sure to pass that info on to my folks; I've been watching this thread on their behalf. Neither of them are much inclined to participate in forums; I've tried to get them to join us, here.

For those of you wondering, I got my PA permit approved in 12 days.. round trip, to include dealing with the Postal Service.
Pretty easy process, only $20 and I am going to be in PA this coming Friday, so Win/Win.
Big Thank You to Sheriff James W. Muller!

Wonderful.
I told my parents about Adams county, as soon as they returned from their trip to Ireland. They were excited and delighted about it, and had a trip planned within 5 minutes, lol.
I suppose that a positive side effect of being retired, and having a flexible, RV based lifestyle, is that you have the ability to base a fun adventure around a minor nuisance.
I'll let them know about your turn around time, Marc. I'm sure that they will be encouraged.
