Todd Gilbert will hear from me tonight. I carry a small Kershaw with a 1.5" blade just for general use. I conceal it only because I'm afraid I'll lose it if I open carry. I'd love to have one of those Infidel knives just for the cool factor!

Just read that the bill has been finalized and printed. This will be voted on in its final form sometime in the next 1 to 2 weeks.

Very exciting. Looks like this is going to pass this year! I am super optimistic.

The final reading happened in the House of Delegates. It passed with a veto-proof majority. Off to the Senate. Hopefully is will pass through just a quickly and significantly.

Yes. You will be able to carry a concealed switchblade for work and recreational purposes.

As it stand right now, the House bill HB 1432 passed on 1/30/17 and the Senate has a bill SB 1347 and that passed on 1/26/17. There are differences between the two bills, so they have both been referred to the "Committee for Courts of Justice" to be reconciled.

I hope they perfectly blend them together and pass all aspects of both. The Senate Bill is actually pretty cool. Their Bill basically changes a Concealed Handgun Permit into a Concealed Weapon Permit. That is pretty awesome because all the weapons listed in § 18.2-308 will be legal to conceal carry with a permit.

I think we are going to have one hell of a win this session! July just keeps looking better and better.

Well, it made it to the Governor, and to no surprise, he vetoed the Bill. I should not have expected anything else from Governor McAweful.

I guess this is not going to fly until we get a pro 2a governor.

I hate that Carpetbaggin P.O.S. I didn't like him BEFORE he was Governor, and we can thank "BLUE NoVa" for that one! (grumbles all Va Red State-like)

There is a version that the Senate is working on that hasn't made it to the Governor yet. I'm willing to guess that it will get the same smackdown that the Bill from the House of Delegates got. This way, McAweful can confirm that he's a Lefty Lib SOB that is party first, party always, screw the people... You know, in case someone had any doubts.

The governor lied about why he vetoed this bill, and shows his true colors. I plan on pushing my representatives to take so formal action. The Governor is accountable to the people and must be held to answer for his actions. If he lied about this, how many other bills did he veto under false pretenses?

He said "Furthermore, the laws of the United States prohibit the manufacture, transportation or distribution of switchblade knives. Accordingly, I veto this bill."

That is a 100% lie. There is no federal law prohibiting the manufacturing, transporting or sale of Switchblades. Also, they are made and sold legally in over 40 states.

He also claims that the Bill doesn't defi,e lawful possession or use, when in fact this bill, combined with existing laws, does in fact provide those definitions.

This guys is a flat out carpetbagging bumm.
