I'm gonna let this drop, only because I don't want to pour salt in anyones wounds. I was around back then too, I didn't wear OD green, I wore tiger stripes. I tracked demons who vanished into mist , where every shoot of bamboo had a weapon, I swear it did...

, . Everyone has stories, some have dreams, and some have nightmares. I left GS in 78. I am just saying that we got away with a lot of stuff 'back then'. Since the most trusted man in america declared that Vietnam was not a winable war, even though we were winning it, the media and the left have combined their manipulative skills to shape the opinion of the sheeple. Count me as one who gave a crap too, I gave more than one.

I saw someone above say young folks should not enlist right now. I wont say whether or not I agree with that but if you are considering joining up remember the oath you must take first. You will be asked to swear that you will protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies. Good deal, but there is more:
In the Armed Forces EXCEPT the National Guard (Army or Air)
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
In the National Guard (Army or Air)
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of (STATE NAME) and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God.

Exactly. And when those "orders" directly violate the Constitution?
Duty says ignore the order and arrest (or have arrested) the issuer. How many people got arrested for their illegal orders during the Katrina aftermath, hmm.
Lots of mercs out there. I truly wonder how many patriots. Not one brought charges for the spurious and TREASONOUS actions of their commands.

You can refuse an illegal (more commonly known as unlawful) order. Bear in mind that merely violating our precious Constitution doesnt necessarily make it illegal. Plenty of those on the books already.

Dunno about the horoscopes and signs business, but I do think that charges for smacking a guy in the mouth that you just took a gun away from is just plain damn silly.
