I'm pretty sure that if I was out on a property where I expected to see a bear - I would carry a rifle. But that's just me - I'm a chicken, and I believe that I would want that fight to be as lop-sided as possible!

I've seen 3 times in the last 30 minutes that Hyundai commercial where the BEARS are chasing that couple ......just saying !

Lol, that sign IS the joke. Apparently, someone read the joke, (possibly in Readers Digest; I think that's where I first read it, several years ago. ) and they basically put the joke on the sign.

I suppose, though, that it's possible that the joke was based on the sign. Either way, it's hilarious that the sign exists. At least, I hope that it's a real sign and not a photochop.
