Good taste in suits. It has always been my opinion that men should always maintain at least 1 suit in their wardrobe, with coordinating accessories. I never have understood the modern aversion to suits. Myself, I own several. I have a couple of conservative suits, for the times that those are appropriate, and I also have some fun suits that I purchased from stores who cater to black pastors, for the times that looking both sharp and incredibly tacky are appropriate.

UPDATE:

My lawyer finally got some info to me. I dont know if he just received it or if he's been holding on to it.
Looks like were trying to get the charged dropped as it being a clear case of self-defense.

This was the guy who threatened to kill me:

http://www.bustedmugshots.com/georgia/l ... /103539261

When they tried talking to him that night he was drunk and confrontational with police. Being that he is also covered in tattoos they went with their instincts and ran his info.

He had 12 outstanding warrants in Georgia and Florida so they arrested him. He was not even supposed to be all the way up in Virginia so that will be more charges added to his day in court, whenever it happens. Apparently he was extradited a while ago so if the state intends to press charges they'll have to drag him back up here.

Lawyer thinks I will probably beat this.

His mama will tell you that he's such a nice boy!
Good luck!

I doubt they would spend the time and money to drag him up here. As long as you have a clean record, credibility is on your side too. There are many, many times when the courts aren't allowed to consider past convictions... but they do anyway.

Trial tomorrow. Lawyer says things look very good for me. Hopefully I dont crack under cross-examination.

Generally speaking, I find that it's best to answer "yes" or "no" type questions with a "yes" or a "no", and leave it there.

Answer questions truthfully and briefly, and you should be fine.

I got off.

Technically null process. They were unable to build any kind of case in 3 and a half months. All the witnesses said the exact same thing I did: He was being threatened by a nutjob and fired once in self-defence.

They asked for a continuance to try and make something more of the case. Judge said No Deal.

HOWEVER: They still get one year to try and prosecute again. Which means I cannot discuss my case.

If you want the initial report just hit Google News or Bing News and look for Travis Nelson Hooters Manassas.

A long time ago, the guy who jumped me was shipped down to Georgia for his other charges. He wont be a witness or anything.

I'll drink a beer for liberty; in my country if you dare to defend yourself you're on your way to jail.

The only good legal advice a cop ever gave me is "you're going to need a lawyer.'"

You're going to need a lawyer.

I got off.

In the sense the DA dropped all charges.

They couldnt find any witnesses who said it was something besides self-defense. Now I can go on with my normal life.
I guess.

Don't mean to be personal, but did this cost you and is there any recourse for recovery of expenses if there were any? I know lawyers are not cheap.

I carried yesterday. First time in over 6 months. Had a couple training courses for pistol defense.
Felt weird. The P238 is a little heavier and fatter.

Incidentally, the cops still havent returned my LCP. Good thing I dont need it.
