The South is a solid republican voting block, they must be disemboweled and quartered. With the exception of Florida (and NC in '08) the South and the northern midwest are the only ones voting republican anymore.

And stereotypes are based in fact and I'd argue probability would indicate broad sweeping statements ring true more times than not.

Politico bemoans conservative, religious white Southerners whom the magazine accuses of preventing the U.S. from being more like Britain, Canada and other liberal, English speaking democracies.

If those countries are so great and the U.S.A is so awful, how much effort have they put into emigrating?

The article concludes with the hope that the South will be ethnically and culturally cleansed by immigrants from other countries and liberals relocating from other parts of the U.S.

If it is so bad, why are they all relocating out of their liberal paradises into conservative hellholes?

Our soldiers today are fighting for America. However our government fights for big oil, defense manufacturing, corporate influence and the global domination of resources. Who's to say a couple of generations from now some wacko liberal textbook will teach that we were cruel to the world and it was all out of greed?

Will our flag and cemeteries be fair game for Occupy hippies?!??

They already drive gas guzzling cars to carry their petroleum derived polyethylene kayaks to the water to protest...petroleum. So, would that surprise you?

They can dynamite symbols all they want. They can't dynamite the hearts and minds of Americans. The only problem I see is that future generations will not understand what is being lost because they will have been taught revisionist history by the teachers unions. Therein lies the most pressing issue, IMO.

This country is indeed ripe for ethnic and thought persecution. Not officially sanctioned via authorities (they aren't that bold yet)...but basically the murder of one's character by mass media and society if he/she doesn't conform to political correctness.

Think what would happen if you were in a random crowded room and yelled, "I believe that homosexuality is wrong!"

It would be almost the same as yelling the "n-word" would it not? Cultural thought police via mob rule.
