It's the bathroom scenario that Viper presented that I am uncomfortable with. I don't want a man in the bathroom with my wife and daughter. If you were born with a penis, you have male DNA. That can't be changed, regardless of the mutilations that you have done to yourself.

Im with ya SHMIV. I'm somewhat... indifferent to the gay marriage thing. I don't support it, yet.. I'm not really against it either. However, this whole transgender nonsense, really bothers me. Plenty of these types, get breast implants, wear makeup, dresses, etc... yet still have Mr Winky. Not a situation, I'd want my wife, daughter, or granddaughter to be forced to encounter in a public restroom. Yet, according to Fairfax county public schools, they are now a protected class, & kids are going to have all of it shoved down their throats in "health" class, with parents unable to opt out of the teachings. So... in the future, a teenage boy, who thinks he's a woman, can come to school wearing a dress, & use the girls bathroom...????
For the record..... I support everyones right to be a freak, or whatever you want. AS LONG AS, it doesn't infringe on others. I have no problem with gay people, I have no problem with those going through identity crisis. Where I think things are flawed is, forcing kids to be taught it is normal, & okay.
I really hate arguments like this because since when have anything people have done be considered normal or natural? Fact is people are about as unnatural a creature as you can get. We make things not found in nature, and kill in ways that should sicken everyone. Hell marriage itself is a human concept and thus not normal by nature's standards. Personally I feel the whole of humanity is completely deranged, I mean the majority of people even believe in an invisible man in the sky (myself included). Last I checked that was actually a sign of a mental illness.
So excuse me if I don't buy the normal vs not normal debate because there is none!

Human children develop at a slower rate than lower animals and humans had the intelligence to recognize that fact...and the intelligence to come up with marriage as a way of bonding providers for said child's needs. That's the abbreviated version, but I'd sure consider it to be normal and natural.

Many of us would rather use the phrase "evolutionary superiority". It's a coping skill.

Even scientists believe in things that can't be seen...think dark matter.
There is a parallel there that doesn't, in my mind, exclude "Man in the sky".

You don't want my opinion on the subject. If you guys knew what I really feel about religion... some of you may never speak to me again.

Well, looks like I am not going to be making that thread after all. It seems the Good Lord has decided to teach me a lesson in humility and Faith.
After I typed I was going to start a new thread about my opinions on religion, I got in my truck to drive and my eye glasses vanished from my face. My entire family is looking for them, insisting I am crazy and left them somewhere in the house.
I'm am assuming, my thread was going to be too argumentative and possibly cast doubt in the minds of the faithful. I made a promise to God I would not make the thread, apologised, and asked for my glasses back.
My mother in-law said she found my glasses on the seat of her car just a few minutes ago... when she was leaving church to drive home. I learned of this as I was typing this public apology.
Point made, point taken.

Marc, if the faithful have no doubt they will assume their Christian journey is over and stop searching and learning. God constantly injects doubt along my journey. I will never stop questioning Him. To do so would be to admit defeat and lose faith.

Little things like that, Marc... W2B refers to that as a "God moment ".
Some might call that a coincidence, but I see too many of that type of coincidence to believe that they are coincidences.

Are you saying that gay married couples should not be able to adopt?
I was specifically talking about curriculum & policy in schools. However, to answer your question, yes. I do NOT think gay couples should be able to adopt children.

I realize this is a personal issue for you. However, when 98% of our population doesn't identify as gay or transgender, I think it's a fair assumption that not being gay or transgender IS "normal", at least for the sake of my argument.
As I have already stated, I don't have a problem with anyones partner choices. It's really none of my business. That's the way I see it. It becomes my business when school curriculum involves teaching my children, or grandchildren that this alternative lifestyle is not only normal but, should be celebrated. What Fairfax County has recently done is, moved the curriculum involving this subject to health class, making it mandatory, forcing it upon children, & in many cases against the wishes of their parents. Parents will NOT be able to opt out like they could in the past when these topics were under "life classes" or whatever it was called. Fortunately, I only have 1 child still in school, & not for long. Glad he isn't in Fairfax county. For the record, I was a student in Fairfax County years ago. Ironically, you live in my hometown

"Normal" should exist as the true majority, not a scientific consortium.
