I'm a gun owner, and I hate the NRA...
Re: I'm a gun owner, and I hate the NRA...
The phrase 'Gun Control' is so vague and general I'm sick of hearing it from both sides.
It seems to me the Libs use the phrase to soften the approach to gun enthusiasts like you and me. But when put into action it always points back to the same notion - outlaw guns completely. That is all the libs want to do (oh, except for those that guard themselves). That is not gun control.
Hillary's recent comment is a perfect example. She wants more gun control but wants to respect law abiding gun owners rights...Yea right! B.S.
Because of this sneaky approach gun enthusiasts have to defend more strongly to keep 'scope creep' from slipping into law and policy.
I don't really believe the NRA would object to gun control if it was properly defined and was proven to be effective in the intent. Problem is most gun control won't work so the libs just think of more $hit to add to it and try to shove it down our throats. I think we are all choking on the crap being forced upon us.

Being a 2A absolutist, I pretty much oppose any form of gun control, no matter how well defined it is. In fact, I am such a 2A absolutist that I believe that I have the right to keep and carry any weapon that is available to any military, worldwide, assuming that I can come by it honestly, anyway.
Folks that have proven themselves untrustworthy with weaponry ought not be allowed to walk the streets. That would negate any supposed "need" for gun control.

Has the "author" of that mendacious Astroturf been officially outed as a fraud yet?

I couldn't agree more. The NRA will always take the credit, but the SAF always get results.Mindflayer wrote:Second Amendment Foundation - join.

And more often it's tempered with the words "common sense".wittmeba wrote:The phrase 'Gun Control' is so vague and general I'm sick of hearing it from both sides.

From his blog
The photo in the WaPo piece cracks me up. It looks like he is trying to make us believe he is in a tree stand. Pretty freaking small tree if you ask me. Makes me think he put on the hat, jacket and sunglasses and stood in front of a tree beside the road.
Richland Center, WI is in the heart of farm country, not a place populated by liberals, but by Walker voters. Educated at Columbia Univ speaks volumes.I’m a freelance writer and teacher with a special interest in community sports ownership, community wealth-building and how soccer might bridge the two. For seven and a half years, I was the culture and sports editor of INDY Week, the award-winning alt-weekly of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, N.C.
I was born in Richland Center, Wis., raised in Asheville, N.C. and educated at Columbia University in New York, N.Y.

I'm pretty sure the NRA has done more defend our 2A rights than most people probably realize. I don't feel bad supporting them.

Yeah... Raleigh -Durham -Chapel Hill.
Lived there, once. I think that it was in reading INDY Week that I was finding invitations to something called a "gummi fetish party" in the classifieds every issue. Always made me laugh.
That area, especially Chapel Hill, contains way too many pot smoking hippies, folks running around in public wearing bondage gear, and other odd types. Well, that's what it was like in '97, anyway. Maybe it's changed. Ain't going back to find out.

I would like to see verification that he even owns firearms and hunts as he claimed.

His Facebook page showed no examples of either. Astroturf.
