Had a G36 some years back. Always used the "gunsmith" grip to tear down, just like they describe in the manual. Always dropped the mag and racked the slide at least twice before I checked for rounds. Never could get the hang of those two stupid releases so I sold the gun. They are fun to shoot, but I also didn't care for the width of the double stack.
