Y'all have your choice of beverage. I am (sadly) stuck with non alcoholic beverages till my little boy is birthed. That will be 6-8 more weeks.

The officer may not have known about the robbery - but Brown did, if indeed he was the perpetrator. So he probably THOUGHT being ordered to the sidewalk was the prequel to getting arrested and reacted like many guilty thugs and attacked the officer. MAYBE that's what happened - be interesting to see what the tox report says after autopsy data is released.

Also agree that PD's should not look or act like occupying forces, there should hardly ever be a no-knock raid/etc.

Now it comes out that Brown was shot not in the back but from the front. Puts the cop in a much better light, I'd say; and pretty much totally discredits the "eyewitnesses". The C-store video does establish that Brown was acting very belligerently just prior to his confrontation with the cop; and it is a very good point that Brown may well have assumed the cop DID know he'd just robbed the C-store. So the more information that comes out, the more justified this shooting looks. I'm now thinking that if I'm the cop and after I tell this dude that's big enough to go bear huntin' with a switch to step off the road he comes through the car window on me and goes for my pistol, I'm going to be sincerely in fear of being grievously injured or killed. Interesting the release on the autopsy says nothing (at least the blurb on Fox News) about any evidence about how far the dead guy was from the gun when shot.

So, I saw in the news this weekend that the protesters believed that he had his hands up in surrender but yet I have heard nothing about this in any of the readings or news reports. How, when did he have his hands up in surrender? When he was charging the officer? Or was this something that happened in the rioting afterwards? I guess I need to research more.

The youth's accomplice in crime said he had his hands up. As the rest if his statements have been shown to be a lie I see no reason to believe that part either.

This guy's something of a bomb-thrower, but he makes some valid points in an entertaining manner.

That is a funny story.

So, More evidence came out showing support for the police officer in the form of an autopsy. Brown wasn't shot in the back and his hands weren't up. The more justified the shooting looks, the worse the people in Ferguson behave. Last night the citizens started escalating the violence, lighting more buildings and cars on fire, shooting other citizens, assaults, tossing fire bombs at police and trying to violently over-run a police station.

I'm telling you... once the poo hits the fan, its too late. I doubt any non-shooter will read this thread... for those of you who do, I encourage you to take up arms to defend yourself now, before its too late.

I wonder how firearms sales are doing around there today?

Yup. From the diagram of the wounds, it is as easy to conclude Brown was reaching for the cop's gun as that he was holding his hands straight up. Might also explain why there were 6 hits with multiple hits in one arm. Cop was shooting at him through the car window, which was filled by Brown's body because Brown was crawling into it after the cop. Couldn't help but hit him.

Just read that Brown was 6'4" tall and weighed 292 lbs. I'd try to keep a dude that big off me.

I'm about 5'6", 120lbs... a guy that size charging me will be shot.

Probably more than once.

Huh... I'm 6'2" 380 lbs. If I think someone is coming at me to do me great harm or to take my life, I don't care how small or big, I'm still gonna shoot. And I'll keep shooting until his stops moving. Just how it is.

That's the wonderful thing about self defense in the US. I don't have to wait around and see if there is any potential of success on my attackers part. I just need to be aware enough to know the person's intent and I'm good to go.

Was there blood in or around the police cruiser? I would think that would exonerate the cop rather quickly.

That cop is an idiot. Maybe if he treated people better, he wouldn't need to be so paranoid about walking among the crowd.

You all know if that was ANY of us, we would be in jail this very moment.

the video seems to show what I've heard. There is more media people there than protesters.

You'd have to have a really loose definition of "media".
