My father is a United Methodist pastor. He is VERY pro-2A. Most of both of his congregations are also pro2A. The pastor of the Methodist church that I used to attend was also pro2A; he actually suggested (in a very vague and diplomatic way) that the congregation arm themselves, during one sermon.

I suspect that, as with the Methodists, there are those who still subscribe to the old beliefs within all the denominations. It's the neohippie church invaders that you have to worry about.

Why does religion even take a stand on way or the other when it comes to 2A?

Having said that, I'm reading "The Lions Gate," by Steven Pressfield, about the Six-Day war. I can't see how any Jewish person could ever be in favor of gun control. Yet I have some overly liberal Jewish friends that are poster-children for gun control.

Why would religion take a stand? Well, I can hazard a guess as to why many churches would take a stand. Those denominations that have their leaderships taken over by leftist activists take a stand in order to convince followers to disarm. Those churches with more conservative leadership don't want to be victims of a holocaust. Also, a pro 2A stance leaves a choice; you can be pro 2A and choose to be unarmed. Antis, on the other hand, leave no choice in the matter. And Christians are all about some free will. .. at least, they should be.

Almost all members of the ruling committee in Russia were Jews. And they ordered the massacre of tens of millions.
All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party - Mao Tse Tung
