Speaking of "different country"...The Woman dragged me to NoVa to go to IKEA of all places.

You can muthafrakin' keep NoVa. I hate that place with ever fiber of my being. BECAUSE EVERYONE IS FROM SOMEPLACE ELSE, AND NONE SEEM TO ACT LIKE THEY CARE ABOUT THE COMMONWEALTH!

While I can sympathize with you, Rev, this gets a little old. Not all of us are truckers, lumberjacks or tobacco farmers, so we live where the jobs are for us. Surely if we can live in the middle of it all in NoVA, you can survive a visit.

Many of us weren't lucky enough to have been born here, but rather made a conscious choice to be in Virginia for what Virginia is, was, and represents. I doubt a single one of us "come-here's" (as you like to call us) enjoys the things you're ranting about any more than you do. We also remember what other places are like (NYC/SF for me) and we probably have a greater appreciation what we now have here, and may be even more terrified at seeing the "erosion" of freedoms than you are.

So, since we agree on the main points, can I ask that you save this particular rant for the liberal/commie/leftist inhabitants not on this list? The rest of us are here now for the same reasons you've stayed.

Lastly, the quality of a man's life can be measured in MTBIV (mean time between Ikea visits).

What I, and most NATIVE Virginians dislike are "Transplants"and "Carpetbaggers". They have no interests in learning the language, the culture, or the people, what would make them try to vote that way to KEEP it!

I stayed in NYC (Manhattan & Bensonhurst) until my son left home. Nothing prepares kids for a big, diverse world like attending a 4,000 kid high school in Bensonhurst... SF was for a job and I could only take 10 months of that cesspool. Quit my job first, then set my sites on VA, NC, SC, GA or FL and started looking for a new gig. It could hardly have worked out better. For all NoVAs annoyances, I've never been happier. My 3rd and 4th NFA items came in on 2 consecutive days last week.
