Really? So we should have to thank officers for not acting with lethal force on youths who are not acting with lethal force on them. Is that where we are at?

I have seen fights and have worked in a school. Kids can be brutal yes, but that does not mean we should be when dealing with them unless absolutely necessary. He did not need to break his arm to subdue him or to protect the other kids. As it was on purpose it is pure meanness that he did.

Is that how we want our officers to act? I sure don't think so.

Christie, don't sweat it. When it's their arm getting broken, we'll see how the opinion goes then. And don't any one of you dare say it will never be you because xyz...

You, know, I have a lot of respect for many of the folks on this site because you all seem like good, honest folks and believe in fairness and justice. It's baffling that any one of us could argue in defense of that officer. It was clearly indefensible.

It sure does look like that officer was trying to inflict some pain. I don't think he had the intent to hurt the kid. However, he did. The bottom line is he messed up, whether he broke or dislocated that kid's arm. He should probably be charged with malicious wounding.

All that said, that little angel would have never been touched by the officer if he had just followed Chris Rock's advice:
