Left work at 16:15... got from Glen Allen to Rt 10 in about 35 minutes. No problems. If anything people were going too slow for the conditions... 25 miles per hour with NO snow sticking to the roadway? Move to the FAR right! Passing lane IS NOT YOUR LANE!

Then? As I got to Rt 10? I saw what people were talking about... the ICE fell FIRST, then WET SNOW!

From 295 to Enon Church Rd? 1 accident, then I witnessed an accident on Enon Church Rd(going too fast, ran right into a mailbox, then a ditch), then I witnessed 4 more cars (all BMW's by the way) in ditches, then? Some MORON in a CAMARO was PUNCHING the gas on Wood's Edge Rd... Um. DUMBAZZ you're in a REAR WHEEL DRIVE SPORTS CAR! FASTER MAKES YOU GO NO WHERE!

Get to Rt 1, decide to go Harrowgate, and some Yahoo in a lifted 4x4 was in the ditch. Guess 4x4 isn't "hovercraft", and three more cars with BALD tires (So bald, I looked like I had locks down to my azz) in ditches/trees. Got home...

The woman had picked up Popeye's chicken. YAY!

Time arrived? 17:53... Yes. It took almost an hour what normally takes about 14 minutes.

It goes like this, if you cannot go fast enough on the interstate, don't use it, and if you THINK your car is "magic", it's NOT! BMW's, AND LIFTED 4X4'S STILL HAVE TO OBEY THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!

I'm supposed to be home in VA by now.

Nope. One of my coworkers lives down in FL, and he had a tractor down there, and since I was delivering down there, anyway, we were asked to retrieve that truck. About an hour or so after picking it up, GF ran out of drive time. Since I cannot drive 2 trucks at once, we had to shut down for the night.

Now, I'm in SC. Since I'm driving the bobtail, and the roads about greasy as eel shh... manure, we had to shut down again.

Bobtails are a bit squirrely on anything other than dry roads.

I'm ready for summer. I been seeing snow and ice since September, and I am tired of it.

Oh well. Y'all stay safe. Don't head of anywhere in that snowy crap unless you have to.

It snowed for two hours in Va Beach and then turned to rain. Most of the white stuff is gone now.

Can't say that I'm disappointed.

3" or so on the ground now and still snowing hard.28 degrees with low tonight of 24. 6" forecast tonight and 1" tomorrow. Looks like we'll get at least that. None at all would suit me just fine. It's a good night to be home nursing a glass of that magic amber liquid from Scotland.

We are supposed to get 10" tonight before the sleet/freezing rain starts. Yuck.. We have about four on the ground now in Cumberland. Dr. Appointment tomorrow in town at 9:30. That will be fun even with 4 x4. Tire chains maybe?

It's 0543. Looks like about 9-10 here in Waterlick. Wood stove is crankin' out the heat. Wife has the day off, probably tomorrow as well. No kids, so no fanning doors (I feel your pain Palladin!) I work out of the house so I can still make money to pay off the jerks inside the beltway. Ya'll enjoy the snow!

We got 6 inches so far it seems. I left work last night at 10:30 last night. Almost no one was on the road. *work was crazy and people were mean, but some were really nice.* At the time I was coming home there was about 1 inch down but lots of Ice underneath. No roadway workers working on it yet. My area by my house they have not treated our roads yet.

Stay safe everyone.

Just eyballing it in Riverton it looks to be about 14" at almost 8 AM. Wood stove is cranking and I'm glad I work from the house on days like this... Time to make the first pass at clearing the steps and the driveway - all day to go with snow expected through the day.

Got about 8 inches last night, but then the ice came in and squashed it. Supposed to get more snow this pm.

A tree fell on part of our fence. I am just glad it was not the house! We can replace fence panels easy.

7-8 inches so far, still snowing, and 1-2 inches forecast today. 26 degrees. Not as bad as some of y'all, but worse than I'd hoped for.

My skunkworks is pretty well shut down today except for me and a skeleton crew. That's bad JuJu; when you're paying people but generating no revenue. But maybe we can hit a lick or two tomorrow.

A few of them that are tasked with clearing the loading dock and access to it at times like this did take pity on me and cleared my driveway. I thanked them and gave them a list of 3-4 other folks that needed help with that to take care of ASAP while they were off the reservation. Hell, if I'm gonna pay them they might as well be doing some good for somebody while they're waiting for the snow to cover what they did this morning back up. Besides, when I left the house, I was paying them for SWMBO to feed them hot cocoa. I figured if they had something else I told them to do, they might not kill too much time at the damn tea party. Since I expect to be snowed in with the woman for the next day or two, I resisted my natural impulse to tell her how much each cup of her compassionate cocoa was going to cost me. I'm mellowing in my old age, I reckon.

Sorry about the rant, but there's nobody here to bitch at.
