Back to the forecast...weren't these the same folks who claimed i was gonna get 6-9 inches of snow? I got 1...

I swear they sound like a 1970's pick up bar! Praising the inches, but deliver LOTS less!

I can't say that I miss DirecTV very much. I certainly don't miss the bill.

We wouldn't have it if it were my call. Silly entertainers.

I really need to order a new winch now that I have my new Jeep. One of my favorite things to do when it snows is drive around and winch other 4x4 out of ditches.

Bearnado watch now in effect... Polar vortex has been sighted dropping polar bears on unsuspecting townships in the upper midwest. School systems should be closed at once...

All this climate change is freakkin' me out - actually, this is more like the winters when I was a yoot.

Which were nothing at all like the winters when my pap was a youngun...

It's supposed to raise awareness. Or hysteria. Or something.

I do remember a butt-dragger along in there about '73.

They build up a lot of awareness and hysteria (and viewership, don'tchaknow), and then they get it wrong anyway. They had called for some snow here, but when I left the house about 7:30 this morning it was 6 degrees and they'd changed the forecast to a ZERO percent chance of snow. That was fine with me. Right now it's all the way up to 11 degrees, but there's enough of that "zero percent" out there to turn the roads and the ground white - maybe a half-inch or so. Looking for a low of -2 tonight, and up here at 2,170 feet, we're usually a few degrees below the forecast. I believe tonight will qualify as one of those "freeze-the-cast-iron-balls-off-a-brass-monkey times that sailors used to recount. Maybe they should have named this storm BONZO or CHEETAH.

OUCH! Bet that's gonna make a lot of folks' day.

We lucked out and only got 3-4". But the bad news is that it is about -10 degrees here right now.

I always send pictures of "snow on the beach" to family members in Arizona and SoCal. It just blows their minds.
