Except while swimming or on fire, I never heard someone say; "I wish I had less ammo."

Always a smart idea... just save enough for the Welcoming Comity, you know, on the off chance they aren't all that welcoming.

when moving to a new house.

I'm seriously contemplating putting my stuff on a few pallets, and using the tractor to fork it onto the trailer for moving... gotta keep in mind the trailer only holds 14,000lbs, so I might have to make a few trips. :hysterical:

Lol. 14,000lbs? Pfft. That's light. I just had 42,000+lbs in my trailer. Not ammo, though. Paper. It would've made lotsa targets.

yep, I'm running a lowly 35k GCVWR truck for my personal unit. Though for as much as I have in in it, there are times I think I should have just gone with a used Class 8 and have been done with it.

as it is I'm pushing the edge of what the neighborhood will tolerate, so perhaps its better that it isn't a big rig.

I joke that my next vehicle will be a big truck, and if fuel prices weren't so high, it probably wouldn't be a joke. As it is, I routinely drop between $600- 800 in the tank on my work truck. So, yeah, unless you are fabulously wealthy, probably better that you didn't, lol.

Stick to the 4-wheelers brother. $35 to fill the tank on the Mustang...

Have to say... it wouldn't be a daily driver by any means, but if I had the cash I would buy one of these in a heartbeat...

I haven't filled a tank, from E, for $35, in years. I think my old Toyota pick up filled up right cheap. But, MY Mustang still cost about $50. Of course, it was an '86, so it may have had a larger gas tank.

The Caddy fills for $60, and the van fills for $80. Still better than $800, though. The only reason I'd want a big truck as a personal vehicle is because I am used to it, now. My full size conversion van feels tiny, and the Caddy feels like I'm cruising a hot-rodded Power Wheels.

The only reason I got my medium-duty, was a need to move 14k on the deck. When you try to do that with a pickup, you're operating with very low margins for misplaced weights, or having any 'extra' capacity if you need to bring other things along.

its a bit of a wince at the pump when I'm taking on 100 gallons, but its the price of admission.

Its a poor choice for a daily driver, but it makes for a nice hauler.
