Howdy, Y'all,

Yankee: Anyone born & raised outside of what is now known as the Southeast U.S.

Damn yankee: Yankee who moves here then complains about how much better it was where they came from.

That's exactly what I told Sgt. Bill when he started building a house down here back in the 90's. I also told him to shut the door behind him when he left jewwseey, but he didn't. So now we have more of them damn yankees.
Damn Yankees! They just keep coming here! I think Paliden posted a pic of something that will stop them. We should line the Potomac river bank with cannon.
Right after the battle of 1st bull run we were there ready to go into Washington and the order came down not to. Had we gone in at that point things would have been very differant today. I think that is hindsite. If our folks in Washington today would use a little hindsite we would not be putting our sites on thier hinds!

I'm proud to be called a Redneck. Those offended are just damn yankees.

Coming here from NJ I was told that a damn yankee is one who comes down south and stays. Now, I believe that a damn yankee is a yankee who moves to the south to escape from the insanity of the north and then promptly starts to try to transform the south into a state with a "northern" attitude (high taxes, government intrustion, gun bans, etc)

Kinda like the northerner who moves down south & promptly places a chain link fence around his/her yard.

Y'all seem to like picking on us people from the North with the wisecracks and such. It seem's that y'all are upset with us Damn Yankees about something. Oh, now I remember it's because we WON and Y'All LOST. Oh and for everyone's information my 101 acer's are too damn big to put a chain link fence around.

How many times do I have to remind you Bill that we won. I'm going by body count since we killed more yankees than they did southerners.

Ketchup is NOT an indicator. I put it on everything I eat.

... question... isn't DC south of the Mason-Dixon line...? That would also include Maryland (the Republic that is...).

so are folks from Maryland and DC consider "southern..." or "yankee...?"

Virginia is as "Southern" as it gets. Richmond = Capital of The Confederacy

Rick is no longer a Damn Yankee. I told him after living here in VA almost 10 years, marrying me and opening this website, he's just as southern as the rest of us. I think he was insulted when I told him that.
LOL! Just Kidding!

There are rednecks in the north - just ask Rick!

The way I here it around here, Lee never surrendered his sword to Grant. Lee thought Grant was a lackey and gave him his sword to have it polished.
