Well there is the issue of defining when life begins legislatively.

On the other hand unless the Rs can let go of the abortion issue they will just continue to lose everything. Especially now that the dems smell the blood in VA.

I dont want them to die, and I dont want to pay for it, but better that than putting their grown asses on welfare and/or in jail because they were unwanted to begin with.

That's called "treating the symptom".

The disintegration of the nuclear family with its replacement by the welfare state is the disease.

Agreed. How do we legislate family stability though.

I'd like to see "great society" programs ended immediately, have people go cold turkey off welfare.

Then in reality people will start having to be responsible for themselves and their own kids again (as it was for almost all of human history).

You cannot legislate family stability, only take away the enticements that destroy it.

Also lots of Obama lovers in VA it seems and too many people with no pride in their nation or heritage.

Ethics? So many of those in government do not demonstrate, by their actions, they have ethics or act ethically.

Its a fact. Admit it.

So, what does it say about the people who vote for the people running for government office whose actions demonstrate a lack of ethics/ethical behavior?

You get what you deserve. Unfortunately, in this world, as the number of people who don't care about what is ethical/right (as long as they get what they want) continue to outgrow the number of people who do the right things and wish others would do the right things will also pay the price.

Term limits.
They won't do it themselves, we have to do it to them.

As long as you can make a lifelong carrear out of being a member of the ruling class ethics won't be a factor.

So, what's your plan to get term limits enacted?

Term limits. Great idea. Wrong time to focus on it.

"The framers anticipated this day might arrive, for they knew republics deteriorate from within. They provided a lawful and civil way to repair what has transpired. We the people through our state legislatures-and the state legislatures acting collectively-have enormous power to constrain the federal government, reestablish self-government, and secure individual sovereignty."

Dr. Levin has given an example of 11 ammendments in the book. The historical basis of each and the thinking behind why the framers included this never before used concept in the 5th ammendment.

It's a good read

Okay, I have to admit the convention of states is a great idea.

How long has the project been up, and how active is it? From the website, I am thinkng there isnt much interest.

Won't happen. Many states get more than they give to DC and won't bite the hand that feeds.

Unfortunately, my guess is (I have no hard data to prove it) that the masses will vote for the devil they know in many or most cases, which gives incuments and edge - kinda like the "home team advantage"

Dunno, seems there's a pretty vocal, but subjective data set in the immediate area that proves your case.
