Wow.... first; elimination of the "don't ask, don't tell policy" and mow he wants to make the marines all look like pansies?? WTH. Guess maybe deep down inside he has some serious gay tendencies and want's his armed forces looking pretty if he ever goes on a base to visit them. it's bad enough he is trying to kill our constitution.... next thing I fear is that he will make a mockery of the constitution stating you can only be president for 2 terms and use an executive order to overthrow this in order to reach his true agenda of being our dictator.....

Well that parts stupid as usual. I had heard that the current womens lid was expensive and hard to take care of from a couple of the "Fewest and Proudest". Unisex anything in the military is just plain ignorant. But then so is calling someone a corpse-man.

You know what would crack me up? They won't do it because they are HONOR guard, but the next time that azzhat of a president walks to "Marine 1"... the Marine punches him in his smug-f'ckin face.

My aunt was a Marine (I won't lower case "Marine"...ever) in the 1960's thru her retirement in the 90's... She was the toughest woman I have ever met.

And she loved me dearly, and I her... God Rest Her Soul, Marine. I hate that you passed 6 years ago, but I'm SO glad you didn't have to suffer this PIECE OF SH'T COMMUNIST AZZHAT OF A PRESIDENT!

I spent some time in the Marines years ago and if I had been told I had to wear that new girly hat I am afraid that I would have had to disobey that order..Not sure anyone I served with would have felt any different..

If that cover became mandatory a lot of Marines would leave the Corps after their contract ran out and very few would join. They have enough problems retaining the few good men they have. Defence Contractors will gladly hire Marines and pay them more than they make in the Corps.

I am looking into starting a private security and protection company. I plan on specifically looking at and for combat trained and combat proven soldiers and Marines. Especially covert and black ops guys.

Obama is NO WHERE near the person a U.S. SERVICE member stands. And a MARINE once more has to earn that title (They're "recruits", not "privates" in Basic, and their basic is longer.)

Gotta say I was more than a little unhappy with this story as it first came out - turns out it's just the Uniform Board needing to find a new dress cover for female Marines, as the current supplier is going out of business. Went out of business, I guess.

And no, POTUS would not be involved in matters of uniform regulations (thank ghod!). If there were going to be changes, they'd come from HQMC (uniform board w/authorization from CMC).

Still, those Dan Daly covers looked just WRONG in white, and any time after WWI.
