Yea, NP. I live right there. Closest gas station to my house. It's generally a good neighborhood except for over by the BP up the road across from Giant Foods. It is a haven for drug dealers to push from, so I stay away from there.

Will a finger print scanner read a print when somebody is kicking your door down, you've got the major pucker factor going and your hands are shaking?

Reason I ask is about five years ago a coworker was showing off his finger print protected hard drive.. He had too much coffee and no food for breakfast.. His hand was shaking so badly the reader couldn't read his print..

Has the technology gotten any better?

We're using thumbprint-reading timeclocks as access controls to unlock doors to limited-access areas at work. If you move your thumb, it frequently fails to read. Then you have to wait about a second or two for it to clear and reset, then you press the button that makes it tell you to put your thumb on the reader. I'd sure hate to count on a fingerprint-reader lock if'n I was a-shakin' like a dog passing peach pits.

I don't think I can remember a keypad combination at 3AM under stress, so many pin numbers, passwords, IPs, etc.
Finger scan works better for me. I'm not too worried about false positives, as long it is not working for my daughter. And It worked all the times I have tested it.

Yeah, no reason to buy them when they don't realiably work. I am reminded of the statement "when seconds count, the police are only minutes away". Much could be said a regularly failing biometric safe.

Keep working at it guys, if it gets reliable, I would buy at least one.
