You're forgetting Medicaid is considered insurance.

My client hospitals are in NY(already generous with Medicaid pre-ACA expansion); they will be able to bill Medicaid for what they've previously been writing off since now even more people qualify for it.

That's another thing that is bugging me about Obamacare... Medicaid is the original program for families and individuals with low income and resources who need health care insurance. If that one is broken or does do what it's supposed to, why not fix that system? Why did King Barry have to create an entire new broken system to run in tandem with the old broken system?

I used to think the Zombies I needed to defend myself against were the low-information voters... turns out they're in the White House and Capital building too.

Because Medi-caid/care doesn't let you become an intrusive azzhat like the current admin would like.

IE: "You cannot have soda, because we the guv'mint deem it so! All HAIL KING BARRY THE SOCIALIST!"

It buys votes; often from multiple generations since once you're qualified you're essentially never paying another medical bill for the rest of your life. Medicaid recipients are shoe-in Democrat votes, so it makes sense for them to further dilute the definition of "need".

You cannot fathom how fcked up the Medicaid system in NY is. If VA decides to expand expect NY level taxation and general corruption. The tricky part is you won't see it in the first five years; but in 20 when the third generation on it crops up.
