The Ruger .22 LR pistol Mark series is probably one of the best designs around, but I beg to differ with how EASY he put that together.
I have created new curse words/expletives based on that gun.
But I own two MKII (Target competition/standard), and I'm looking at a 22/45 because I like the magazine button, and the fact 1911 grips fit it.

The ruger Mark III hunter is easily one of my favorite guns. Love it! When it came to cleaning, I HATED it. I spoke to Ruger reps about it at the SHOT show, and they agreed it could be "challenging".
The I met a gentleman that owns Majestic Arms. He sells a "speed strip kit" for the ruger Mark III, in a word, it is AWESOME.
I do not get any kick backs, but I am here to tell you that I wholeheartedly love the kit, and it makes cleaning so much nicer!

Wonderful upgrade. Ruger should partner up with him, it makes a great gun, almost perfect. Very enthusiastic thumbs up!
Good luck, Doug

Dreamer - I had that kit in my hands yesterday at the gun show. I should have bought it, eh?

Yes my friend I think you would have been very happy with it.
I was looking for an easier explanation of tearing it apart, and stumbled upon the website... Felt, uneasy about changing a gun around, goofing something up etc, so I waited.
Ran into the gentleman and his wife at the SHOT show, and spent quite a bit of time talking with him. I bought one , and it has been a terrific purchase. Well worth the money.
To take it apart now, I use an allen wrench.
No more, hold up and while pulling trigger, twist 7 times and do a backflip and it may possibly on the 12th time go back together blah blah blah , puke!
Buy one next time, or just order from his website. It is very rarely I give such a rousing endorsement, this is one of those times. I really can not even say your mileage may vary, it is a great product.
Ruger should take note, and pay the man for his solution and install it in all of their guns.

I picked up a Hunter a little over a year ago, "used". It is a sweet shooter, but I wanted an optic on it, but did not like the scope mount that came with it.
I found a guy on the "rimfire" site that will custom make them. He made me this mount.

Get one of the speed strip kits for it, makes it much easier. I love it on mine.

Ladies, and Gentlemen,
I picked up a used MK III 22/45. I dislike the LCI (Loaded Cartridge Indicator), and the Mag Disconnect.
Looked online...

Problem solved!
As to the "Mark II Dance"? Been doing it for 25+ years.

Parts arrived today, I'll update on the ease of assembly, and conversion to "Non LCI/Mag Disc" MKIII
I know the 22/45 can take grips from the 1911, any suggestions on an inexpensive set? Thanks.

ORDER THOSE PARTS FROM TANDEMKROSS!
Seriously! Once the weapon is disassembled. It's 15 minutes TOPS to put both the LCI replacement, and the Mag Disconnect Bushing replacement, and it's a DIFFERENT GUN!
Mags drop freely! And get the MAG BUMPERS! 11 rounds, and fully work PERFECTLY! Okay, I was NOT paid by Tandemkross, however when you find a company that makes instruction videos ON the website when you order, and provides instructions with them, AND has a toll free for help? SHEEEETT NINJA!
ORDER THIS!
