Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

I read many types of literature but for entertainment I really like books where modern weapons end up back in time against more primitive, but more numerous opponents/weapons.
The first book in the series 1632 by Eric Flint is a hoot.

Another good one is the Conrad Stargard series by Leo A. Frankowski that starts out with The Cross Time Engineer.
Unfortunately Frankowski died before the final wrap up volume was written.

This is awesoooome. This thread is giving me good books to download for when I go out to sea for 2 months and have a (very little) bit of downtime.

Currently reading Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls. I am closing on 50 and figured I should read a Hemingway.
Gates of Fire - Novel about Spartans last stand.
Pride of Carthage - Novel of Hannibal Africanus lifetime campaign against Rome.
Lone Survivor - Marcus Luttrel's telling of operation Redwing of which only he survived. Absolutely amazing!

For sure No Easy Day and Wars of The Rats. For No Easy Day I seriously couldn't put that book down. I didn't care if it was more a biography than anything, it was still cool as hell to have a glance at what those guys (and I suppose he-she's now) do.

Yellow Eyes, by Johnny Ringo (SF). Good enough to read for the 3rd time now.

Then you'll love Lone Survivor. It is amazing how tough and dedicated these guys are, especially when things go wrong.

Just finished David Weber's At all Costs (one of the Honor Harrington series) and am rolling into Pournell's Storms of Victory, Jannisaries III.

The Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse series by Shawn Chesser. Some of the best books I have ever read. He's in the top ten in horror on Amazon. I'm a character starting in the third book. So, it's pretty awesome. Get it. Got it? Good.
