Person: "why are you carrying".

Me: "I'm a boy scout".

I have no problem with long gun, hand gun, or whatever. Carry what you want. When we adjudge others it always leads to trouble. Plus, if you come across a roving gang, that rifle will be a much better deterent than any pistol.

I also seem to remember some full-color comic-strip-type features (I don't think they were ads) that ran in every issue where the good scout always had to make a head shot on a poisonous snake with his trusty rifle that he was allways carrying loaded to rescue a younger child. Remember that? Yessir, in those days the notion that guns saved lives and property was enforced each and every month to Boy Scouts (and other readers of the magazine) everywhere. These days, I guess that's a book that would be "banned in Boston", huh?

I understand Boy's Life is still around. What do they do in those ads now? Call Animal Control or 911?

Ahh, Boys Life... I wonder what ol' Dink and Duff are up to?

I haven't seen a copy of that magazine since about 1989. I doubt that I would even recognize it (or approve of it) today.

Dink and Duff lol...

They still had Boy's Life when I was in scouts. I made Eagle in 2003. I don't remember much about guns aside from coverage of shotgun and rifle merit badges.

I never had a chance to do shotgun...

Yes those guys were looking for a cop to harass them so they could post on youtube and have their 60 seconds of fame, the Cop shut them down. what a couple of tools.. LOL M&P-22 fully auto, really ?
