I went to the one near Richmond today. OMG! That is just about the COOLEST store I have ever been to! It's even better than the Cabelas I used to go to when I lived in PA.
Little late to tell which one you went to, I can't suggest places to look for ammo. :hysterical: You weren't far from Green Top and had to pass near 2 Wal-Marts and a Gander Mountain to get to Bass Pro in Richmond. If you didn't find ammo at Bass Pro I'm sure you could have found some at one of the other places. Did you find any .45 acp?

Yeah they had a bunch there at Bass Pro. They were really well stocked on ammo. I'll SOOOO be going back there though. Probably the day of the picnic since I'll be headed down that way anyway. I stopped in the super-walmart in Fredericksburg and was pleasantly surprised at the selection of hunting/shooting gear. NOVA walmarts just dont have that stuff.

Nope. The Walmart next to Rt. 66 in Manassas used to carry guns but when they built the one on Liberia Ave. The other one stoped selling and I don't believe the new one ever did. They might have for a year or so though.

Yup. The walmart in Kingstowne does carry some ammo - when its in stock, which isnt very often. They carry a pittance of items for hunting and some fishing. We're probably lucky to have that with all the tree huggers so close. Now that I've found out a couple of things about Fredericksburg I'll be taking my business there thank you very much. For me, thats a quick trip down 95.

Howdy, DK,

When can one make a "quick trip" on that section of 95? Any time I've been on it, its been backed up from Fredricksburg to the beltway.

Regards,

George

Hey, George! Excellent question. Last time I went it was pretty smooth sailing, but if traffic is backed up I take route 1. Its relatively easy for me so its a good backup plan. You do have red lights, but thats better than sitting in a parking lot...dk

I drove down Labor Day and it was pretty clear. I think anymore its hit or miss but mostly heavy and slow.
