Here's why: Liberal crazy progressive idiots like this school's spokesperson have made it illegal to say the words "Cowboys and Indians" because someone might get offended at being called an "Indian" or something. Kids don;t play Cowboys and Indians anymore because they aren't allowed to!

Kids definitely think of cowboys and indians/army. It is part of young males bonding. These coward liberals and their constant hand wringing over the remotest of possibilities spend far too much time and effort immasculating boys.

Children need to behave like children. Their days do not need to be so packed with extracurricular activities that they have no time to be themselves.

I had to look up where Suffolk county VA was, I figured it would be near NoVa given the uniquely liberal faggotry this article suggests is rampant there, but I was surprised to see its near Norfolk; isn't that a huge military area?

Which, forgive me for stereotyping, but should indicate a wide latitude of tolerance for gun ownership among the students parents? Or is it all the carpet-baggers at work again?

Or is this knee-jerk anti-gun attitude just becoming more commonplace throughout the Commonwealth?

@ Kreutz, look to the Feds for starting this crap when THEY required schools receiving fed funds to expel students that have a gun on school grounds.

Sad, but true. The folks whose parents were born there are still good solid salt-of-the-earth Virginians, but they are outnumbered. Just a few years behind NoVA on the road to perdition.

My first grader was threatened with suspension for making play gun motions at the playground with another student. The principal called and was very confrontational.

Later after speaking with the vice principal whom was much more level headed she said she would have never let that happen and that we need to be realistic and consider the age and context of the situation.

This is PW county.

What kills me is kids are getting suspended left and right with all this over reacting to anything that even remotely resembles a gun or gun like object, yet the schools are ignoring real threats.

My son got suspended from middle school because an empty 9mm brass fell out of his coat pocket in a classroom and the teacher saw it. I explained to the school that the brass likely was ejected into his pocket while we were at the outdoor range the day before and he likely didn't even know it was there. They could have cared less.

At that same school, in the same year, my son was stabbed in the leg and the school did nothing. A kid that had been bulling him threw a pair of scissors at my son and they stuck in his leg through his jeans. The school didn't notify me; I had to find out from my son when he got home. The school refused to give me the kids name or put me in touch with the parents so I could press charges. The school also refused to discipline the bully because the bully claimed "it was a mistake" and "they were just playing". I pulled my kid out of school for the rest of the year because he continued to get picked on. This year, my son is in a new school.

Bleeding hearts pretending to care... what a joke.
