Are they US citizens?

If not, this is an act of war. They don't have constitutional rights.
i thought they said they were, for the last year. they may have just been living here.

as far as that even if that is the case...many will argue that the constitution simply outlines basic human rights as given by god, citizen of the US or not...but meh...thats a gray area.

Ok, Fair enough. But we could argue that if God had wanted them to have those rights he gave them that we guaranteed to our citizens in our Constitution he would have had them born here; couldn't we? Drop the freakin' hammer! God's probably just as mad at them as we are.

I know I'm being both facetious and irreverent here, but dammit, I just can't help myself.

Bull...the constitution does not provide rights to foreign enemies.

If they want a trial, they can have a military one. I'll leave it up to the military to decide if they want to grant one. We'll send them the body as soon as we're finished.

Can't interrogate a corpse.

There is conflicting info regarding the immigration status of these two. I favor trying terrorists in court (civvie or military) because we are a nation of laws and its the right thing to do.

I am wary of the death penalty but if thats the law of the land so be it.

if they are not citizens, as was pointed out, they committed an act of war. I see no reason why a death sentance isn't suitable, after a thorough interrogation.

If they happen to be citizens, then they have committed multiple murders, which is also suitably punishable by death.

Either way, any who are captured alive ought not be let loose later, and ought not be a burden to tax payers.

I wonder who is gonna foot the bill on damages if they consider this an act of war. Insurance doesn't cover that stuff......

Younger kid should have his citizenship revoked. He violated whatever oath he took to become a citizen.

Call me crazy but I'm happy they got one of them alive. This will remain in the news as the case progresses through the justice system and people will be reminded there are people among us who would rather kill us than hold the door open for us. Too soon people forget about yesterday's news and this needs to be an "in your face" reminder for as long as possible. People become complacent after a period of time of bad things not happening - we all need to remain forever vigilant and not assume we are safe where ever we go.

Agreed, and alive he might be quite the intelligence bank of what overseas terrorist cells trained him if any.
