Bullit, don't keep anything. Capture, examine and release just to see what's around. Not terribly interested in snakes. More interested in aquatics and semi-aquatics.

That's good advice for the majority of people. Sometimes a short stint in a well cared for environment with an experienced observer can yield important conservation information from a captive animal that you just can't get in the field.

"Field...Herps"... that just sounds wrong.
Like going camping with a stripper and coming back smelling like candy... or coming back smelling like Candy.

Still looking for someone with private property where my 4 sons and I can camp over the two day weekend of May 4th and 5th arriving Friday evening. I know it's a long shot and that it is asking a lot of strangers but I just thought it was worth a try to be able to have privacy without the noise and neighbors of traditional campgrounds and make it a true primitive camp out experience.

Seriously, Bullitt, post an ad on Craigslist. There's bound to be someone with the resources and willingness to accommodate you. Just meet any respondants at a Starbucks or McDonalds or something beforehand.

Have received two very nice offers in the Shenandoah where all our objectives can be realized. Given the circumstances your offers are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
