New Profile Fields Added - VCDL and NRA

I am not a member of all 5 organizations (Just NRA and VCDL right now), but you can see each that are available at the bottom of my post for now.

Just go to your User Control Panel and click on the "Profile" tab, then add your member ID for each organization and the "Proud Member" shield will automatically be added to each of your posts.

The organizations that are available right now are:

VCDL - Virginia Citizens Defense League
NRA - National Rifle Association
VSSA - Virginia Shooting Sports Association
GOA - Gun Owners of America
VGOC - Virginia Gun Owners Coalition

Alright so I put in my NRA number and suddenly all the badges popped up. I don't know if it's just me seeing them or what but I'm not trying to claim membership to anything else when I'm not.

FOund a small glitch Rick ,For some reason it puts the VGOC logo up without putting a number in..When I put my GOA in my profile the VGOC appeared at the same time... I am not a member of VGOC as of yet,, ALL the others Yes,

Do I really have to enter my valid member ID for any of these? I kinda enjoy a shred of anonimity, y'know, hackers and all out there...

Not a silly question at all - and actually something that I considered while I was writing the code.

Your member ID is not visible to anyone in the forum. The code that I added just looks to see if you have a valid ID entered in the database and displays the appropriate badge(s). Your actual ID is never displayed anywhere in the forum except in your own profile control panel area.

Gotcha, so it's like a password hash. I admin a forum for another hobby of mine, and you'd be suprised at what info can be gleaned when using the admin toolkit.

It's not hashed - but it's not used in any displays other than the User Control Panel for your editing pleasure.

Someone with root access to the server (me) can see the number in the database. I take security very seriously and keep a close eye on my server as well as implementing proper schemas to ensure that unauthorized access is not obtained. Level 1 of my security schema is to firewall most of Asia, Russia, Middle East, Africa, South America and Europe.

Out of 13,306 visits over the last 2 weeks or so, only 201 of them originated from outside North America.

Scratch the part about the numbers not being visible in your user profile. They are visible if someone views your profile. If you're concerned about it, just enter a number greater than "0" for each organization that you;re affiliated with.
