Shopping at Walmart is practically as bad voting for Obama. I get local dealers to order things for me and they can usually beat or match the best price I can find online.

Purchased a few rifles from them...the 22 LR was about $100 cheaper than Gander Mountain. Found that the 7mm rifle is $250; while the other markets have it over $399. I have found the rifles reliable and have been pleased.

I agree the walking to the door is odd; but depending on the staffing of the hunting department - - other customers had to wait until I was escorted out.

That is bad for business.

I've always heard waldogs weapons were inferior to other stores, but have yet to see proof of it. I bought my 22 from Kmart years ago and it usually goes "pew pew" when I squeeze the trigger and puts rounds on target. Maybe Kmart had a better quality firearm though.

I would seriously be interested in seeing a QA or material report on a WM weapon.

I know for a fact the Colt LE6920 (M4) sold at Walmart is the exact same part number and model available elsewhere. Same barrel with same QC attention and magnetic particle test and high pressure test. Same goes for the bolt and carrier along with the proper staking on the gas key bolts. Same roll marks on the lower, same fire control group, same plastic furniture. Price is also the same as what is available in the gun stores within $50 +/-.

I also checked out a Mossberg 500 from them that was the exact same as what you get at a gun shop. Same plastic safety, same plastic trigger guard, same fore end and stock.

Do they have certain models that are Walmart exclusive? Sure. Does that mean everything they sell is of lesser quality than what you get at a gun store? Nope.

It's plain and simple, Walmart buys bulk. That equals a better price for the buyer, not sure why anyone even cares?

It's because sometimes it bulk and sometimes it's a Walmart version that's of lower quality. That wouldn't be a problem if they were more forthcoming about it being a Walmart version and not equivalent to what is being sold elsewhere. e.g. the savage 22 without an accutrigger.

But would it still be worth it to buy from Wally World and than buy a new trigger? Just asking as I have no idea how much the accutriggers are running.

Maybe. The key is that we as the consumer are hard pressed to know when we are buying the same item as sold elsewhere or something that is marketed/labeled as the same, but isn't.

This is where checking part numbers can be critical when buying a gun, along with a thorough inspection of it before buying. I once bought a ban state compliant pistol that had a magazine disconnect, and an internal lock because I wasn't paying attention. I wound up having to change $50 worth of internal parts to remove those nanny features.

not to protect Walmart, but the trigger deal is likely from the manufacture giving higher quality to LGS, also Walmart can not really under sell them if it is not the same rifle. you will see the same things in every thing from cameras to tires. Not just Walmart, but Sears, and other bulk dealers.
The stains on the packaging indicate freshness

Otherwise, you might go stark raving crazy and shoot a herd of them fat women that seem to congregate where 2 main aisles come together and stare up into space waiting you you to butt-rub by them to get out of the store. Perfectly reasonable precaution.
