Yes, any M9/92 magazine will work in the compact. 15/17/20/30 rounders will all fit.

If the INOX (not Nickel as stated in the OP) is not your thing, Bruniton version of this is coming out later this year, supposedly.

The Beretta 90-series guns are excellent pistols, you just need to be aware of the locking block issues. Basically, if you let your recoil spring wear out, the locking block can batter the slide and frame. Worst-case scenario, the slide can crack, but this usually takes 10,000-15,000 rounds, and is almost exclusive to the Italian-made pistols. Just change your recoil spring every 3000-5000 rounds (depending on ammo), and you'll be fine.

A little preventative maintenance goes a long way. I have seen Beretta 92F pistols built in the late 80s that have tons of use and are holding up fine. I've seen guns that were run ragged for a year or two, have cracked slides and frames.... mostly from shooting ranges that do ABSOLUTELY NO maintenance to their pistols whatsoever. No lube, original recoil spring, etc.

Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you. Almost every complaint I hear about the 92's reliability or "crappiness" comes from servicemembers, who usually get guns that have been run ragged. It's like if you ran your car 30k miles without an oil change, and then complain about the engine blowing!

Its the cold starts, not the mileage.

But yes, the reason we complained is those guns were poorly maintained by civilians who didnt give a crap about their jobs. Had they been our personal weapons the vast majority of us would have taken much better care of them.

I agree. It's also up to the training given to personnel, which is often not correct. They teach bad habits, and drill them into everyone's head (for instance, segmented steel cleaning rods, insertes from the muzzle end!).

Not necessarily the fault of the gun or the operator.

Going in from the muzzle end isnt nearly as bad as putting 10 thousand rounds on the same spring, firing pin, and ejector.
Or 20 thousand thru the same barrel.

Lol, true but both are bad. As a gunsmith, I see so many things that make me cringe. Good equipment can take some abuse, but constant and/or systematic abuse will lead to failure of any mechanical device.

Then again, we take better care of our weapons because we can't print money to buy more when we wear them out!

That's friggen AWESOME! I never knew the 92FS even had a compact version

Compact L and Compact M. And INOX in both if you like.

The latest incarnation is basically an M9A1 Compact in INOX. It has a nice rail. For those that find the full-size 92.too large, it's a nice option.

My only beef is I still havent found slim grips.
Little girly hands cant grab it as easily as I'd like. Would be willing to switch to the Compact M for a smaller handle, but then I'd be giving up around 6 or 7 rounds I think.
