Day two: I can stand up straight! Funny thing is, as soon as I left base and drove home for the xrays (bout a 20 min drive) my back was loosening up a bit. Sleeping last night was minimal because I kept waking up. For some reason I kept rollin on my stomach but when I would roll over to my sides, I could feel my lower disks falling into place. Oh man, what a magical feeling! It still bothers me to sit down though, maybe its my couches super plush lining but its good to lay down on. Hopefully tomorrow Im back to somewhat normal so I can take our kiddo to the pool. Now I'm off to the supermarket so I dont stay stagnant. Honey Do lists are like death. They still come for ya even if you fight em off haha.

I've been pretty lucky. I often have back problems but usually lots of heat and the MC wonder drug, motrin, helps me. I try to get up and about as much as possible to excersie the muscles without overdoing it. Then use more motrin and heat. I don't think I have any disk problems just muscle strains mostly.

On my 31st birthday (four decades ago) I had a squash match with a guy I really wanted to beat. i got there late, didn't warm up, twisted for a shot in the corner, and my life was pain and uncertainty for about twenty years. Then I started swimming and scuba diving -- lots -- and have not had a single "attack" for two decades. I'm 71, still swim, still scuba dive (with two steel tanks on my back, in caves!), can sometimes tell that my back used to hurt really bad, but not once in the last 20 years have i had a problem. In my view, strengthening and continuing to use those lower back muscles is the key...even just walking is good. Stay away from sharp jolts, keep stretching and strengthening. Good luck. Oh yeah, and stay away from chiropractors...went to one once (on advice of a friend) and the only thing worse than how he hurt me was that I then had to pay him for it.

Good on ya tursiops! I may as well be a fish myself so that was gonna be part of my plan for today. I was gonna take the kiddo to the pool (it's like 85 here, sorry fellas) but the water was still a tad too cold to stay in for anymore than 5 minutes. I want to get my wife into scuba diving but she's freakish about the ocean and hates anything that may reside in it and not currently dead on a plate haha.
Thanks to everyone else too for yalls recommendations. Personally from what I'm feeling at this point is I think a disk slipped out of alignment because I can feel it slipping back into place slowly and it's getting a lot better. We'll see what that MRI shows once I get the referral accepted for that, but my hopes are high. Til then, it's hot/cold pop a norflex, then go play with the kiddo. Rinse and Repeat.
