Pieces of the cake. Progress, progression, progressive. That there is only so much cake to be taken matters little to naught...another thread here describes how it progresses from the original object to the next object. An extension of the (what is it, a metaphore?) parable of the cake, the next object up for compromise is a dish of the main meal.
What we need is progress toward the original intent of the Second Amendment.

You say "trade" I say "concede". I will not concede anything to any govt body who would or will take my constitutionally guaranteed rights. Personally a suppressor doesn't make my mouth water enough to drink from that dirty ass pool.
