I'm sure I'll be there Saturday too. My Father and I go to all the shows in the area. Not sure how much I'll be able to see on this show. My father is 72 and still pretty darn spry but "over 2 and a half football fields". THAT is a lot of ground to cover!
Heck, we have been having so much fun lately shooting that he is going to shot his first IDPA match on the 5th at Silver Eagle. Should be interesting to see the old man shot and move!

Yeah, I told hubby I was going to leave the Ladysmith at home when we go on Friday. When we went to the Fredericksburg show, I brought it to try out holsters, but the security people at the door zip-tied it in such a way as to make it IMPOSSIBLE to holster.
We're looking for ammo (aren't we all) and I plan to fondle some guns myself, too.

I have heard that something called "wire cutters" or "razor knife" makes zip tied handguns fit in holster much better. I've never tried it though.

Get a zip-tie and put it on yourself so it will holster. I always zip-tie my own gun so that it fits my holster and so I can quickly remove the zip-tie should that ever be needed but I always have one installed through the chamber of my guns.

I'm not going to make it to the show this weekend. I'll be working out details on getting set up at a local gun club (Northern Virginia Gun Club - NVGC). I'm meeting with the RSO of the club tomorrow to get that checkbox marked on my application.
With any luck, I'll be in within the next couple of months and then I can start working on getting something set up for a VGOF group shoot.

Well, I'm standing in line waiting for the show to open. Already have people walking out to their cars with dollies of ammo. Must be exihitors.

People who work the show get first crack at all of the vendors, before the show is open to the public...

I was concerned that they'd get all bent out of shape because it's a revolver - with the cylinder closed, you can't necessarily tell if it's loaded. What they did before is have me open the cylinder, then ran a zip tie through one chamber - made it impossible to close the cylinder. Unless they're willing to let me zip tie it in their presence, I'm not sure how to get around that (and I'm not sure I can devise a way to close the cylinder with a zip tie in there).
We went this afternoon - managed to score some ammo for each of us, in fact. I was amused that when we entered each building, they actually stopped my husband to ask if he had any firearms on him, but they let me just walk on by. Perhaps it was the 9-year-old I had in tow, or perhaps they just think girls don't like guns?

So, has anyone picked up a new firearm this weekend at the show??
I did. My wife had decided that she wanted a Walther P22 in Pink. I figure I should have a lot of fun plinking with this cutey.

I saw a few things I wouldn't mind getting but cash was the problem.
I really enjoyed looking at all the old military items.

Didn't buy any guns but bought a Gorgeous necklace made out of a .357 Magnum casing. Ladies (and Guys, if you want a cool gift for your ladies) check this out:
http://www.jenuinelyjeni.com. She makes really pretty bullet jewelry, among other things.
I didn't see anyone VGOF shirts but it was soooo crowded yesterday morning.

I got one of her cat-necklaces for my mom's 50th birthday at the last show; my mom laughed when she heard where I got it =)

It was a great show(s). Especially thanks to the shuttle between the halls. Julie and I got there at 0815 Saturday morning and I expected the line to be really long, but wasn't like Richmond (showplace). A lot of vendors and yes a lot of walking. We purchased a new pistol and ammo as well as other cool stuff. It truly was well worth the trip. BTW Saturday afternoon it got really crowded. Did join the VDCL while there.

Done. Did a bit of horse trading, sold my CZ75B (I'm a revolver guy anyways) and picked up that 629-5 standard (half-lug barrel). Any punks feelin' lucky? =)
Time to go make it dirty!

Yeah make that .44 dirty and enjoy yourself. That's what its all about right?
I took Mrs. Tiki up to Blue Ridge today so she could try the P22 out. I hit a home run with that one. She flat out loves it. She and I ran close to 250 rounds down range with it. Now she's asking when we can go back to the range. I'm really hoping I've created a monster. I'd love for her to enjoy this like I do. Time will tell.
