Maybe. Obama did better amongst old folks than people think, even crochecty old white men. Obama promised to keep the SS and medicare flowing....neither of which is sustainable incidentally.

The Dems stopped being for white Americans in the mid 60's, way before my time. Its likely blacks would have been very much inclined to vote Republican then.

Yes they have for at least the last 20 years, though I know TX and FL are exceptions.

A quick Google search showed Romney pulled 27% of Latinos, so the 13% difference would at least imply pandering pays off.
