mwd - while I was in walgreens today I checked that out, and they actually have some pretty decent sized med-kits there that I saw even had the scissors and a surgical razor. Back state-side it may be different, but that's what I found and it was around 45 bucks. I'm assumimg most Wal-Greens and Rite-Aids would have something similar.

Nah, my wife and I just assembled what we wanted for our vehicle and home kits. With the prepackaged kits it always seems like "well, that's nice but they have too much of this and I really wish I had some of that."

Great idea and a great job as well. Not only is this something everybody needs but , if everybody comes up with an additional necessary item it can only get better. Thanks , Shotgun for starting this.

Easy fire starter kit: get an empty 20ga & 12ga shell, put wooden matches and a folded napkin in 20ga shell and slide into 12ga.
