I use Bruce Furr of Furr Supply Co/Signal Hill Supply. He charges me $30 to transfer, and works both out of his house in Vienna, and out of a room at the Fairfax Rod & Gun Club in Manassas ("FXRGC"; all guns get shipped to the FXRGC storefront). He is cool with receiving guns from non-FFL people, though I don't know how he works with a wholesaler like Bud's. He's probably cool with that, too.

I will NOT and NEVER recommend the following places :
- Sharpshooters (please avoid this place you will thank us later for the warning!)
Cons : Expensive, service is poor

- NOVA Firearms (Avoid this joint at all cost, owners and sales person are horrible)
Cons : Extremely overpriced, bad karma, bad service, not friendly

In ARLINGTON I can recommend
- Grant Pinto / High Caliber
Pros : Fair prices, does all types of transfers, friendly and MODEST guy, honest and works hard for your money, worthy to support as a gun buyer

In CHANTILLY I can suggest (Not recommended)
- Blue Ridge Arsenal

In RESTON I can suggest / Recommend
- NOVA Arsenal

Blue Ridge Arsenal is great for buying guns locally, but their FFL fees are steep unless you're a member.

I second GoodPeopleForGuns in saying avoid NOVA Firearms & Sharpshooters. NOVA is just overpriced, and Sharpshooters has poor service & refuses to honor their own gift cards - my friend bought me a $60 gift card for my birthday, and they said it had no value. He went in with his credit card statement showing the $60 charge, and still no dice.

I do all of my transfers through a gentleman in Burke VA named Jim Madden.
All transfers are $25, and he's a very friendly and helpful guy - if I tell him what I'm looking for, he'll often find me a better deal that what I could find myself. If I need something repaired, he'll recommend a guy he would trust with his own gear.
