My 2 boys live in that apt complex, one had JUST left, was pulling into WRV about 2mi away when he heard/felt the impact. He was sh*tting himself when I got ahold of him. Thank God for this miracle that No ONE was killed.
Even tho' their apt was not hit/destroyed, they are not allowed back in. Navy is making it right, giving 2wks per diem up front, and $200 clothing allowance, more claims pending...
Most think this has been a long time coming. As a testment to Naval Safety, it's been 26yrs since the last time something like this happened. I remember that last incident, in '86 when an A6 Intruder crashed on Oceana Blvd right after takeoff, landed on a Volvo wagon carrying pregnant woman. Both pilot and BN were killed, as well as the woman/child. THIS incident could have been a LOT worse... Again, thank God it wasn't.
