I would love to, but it wouldn't be a cost savings for me sadly enough. I have to cross that lovely $17/round trip bridge + a minimum of $15 for gas + entry fee...so it winds up being as much if I were to just ship it straight to the house.

I have to go across the bay on work's dime next month, so I thought I would see if there were any stores in the area that I could check out for supplies. Gander Mountain used to have powder, but they no longer stock it in the store in Salisbury, MD. They have primers, but they are ~$40/1k, so if I were to pick up 1k for my pistol and rifle, that would be about $34 more than internet pricing, which is about the same as hazmat + s&h. Might as well order online at that point and get the powder

Check with your vendor... powder and primer have to go in separate boxes, so some vendors charge 2 hazmat fees.

Mac's reloading is usually at the big shows in VA. I've bought from him many times, usually has good prices. I think he's in VA beach, not sure if there is a store front:

As for online, check out Powder Valley Inc for large purchases. Their add'l HAZMAT fee kills any cost savings when buying only a couple items. My last purchase from them was something like 16lbs of powder and 14,000 primers to split between a buddy and I, so it was much cheaper than buying at a show or local shop.

Wideners is also a good place for reloading supplies online. However, they tend to be out of stock on a lot of things because they may be less expensive than other vendors. And they ship powders and primers in one box under one hazmat fee.
