Hit it. As I was leaving some guy in a jacked-up pickup with hunting logos all over it was pulling in.

I went to Starbucks this morning, at 6:30 AM. Not a soul in there but myself and 3 employees. After I got my coffee, I had to remove my gun so that I could go to work next door, and I was too busy to make it back in. I did offer to loan my gun to some coworkers for the purpose of buying coffee, but they didn't take me up on it. Also, I couldn't find a single bank with $2 bills, so I had to pay with $1's.

I stopped at the Starbucks near 7100 and 7 for my first cup, followed by a run to the Cascades Starbucks for cup #2 and some enlightened conversation with Ed Levine.

Ed told us that apparently, someone called the police to report "a bunch of people with guns at Starbucks, drinking coffee and using their laptops." Luckily, there was a deputy at the store already - talking to Ed - when the call came in.

Nothing nearly that interesting happened while I was there, though.

Stopped at the Leesburg Sbux at 0715 on my way to a client on-site. About four other folks already there and one almost broke his neck when I walked in. Watched me the whole time I was there, the rest just went about their business, the staff never even said "boo" about it.

Absolute riot! I got this image of John Wayne and his boys all grunged up, sitting there with their iPads and Skinny Vanilla Lattes in hand!

Seems to me that this "BUYcott" was a huge success! The Starbucks facebook page was filled up with thank you's from the 2A community all day yesterday. They were getting 100+ comments per hour on Facebook.

Well, since my bride was so sympathetic to the cause, I made the trip to Starbuck's anyway. SWMBO and I went out for a quick bite and then to the Starbucks at exit 7 on I-81 in Bristol, VA for coffee and dessert. It was probably around 6:30pm by then. Not many folks there.

The kid behind the counter asked me what I wanted, and I told him I had no idea; I was just there to support them for supporting gun rights in Virginia. He mentioned the tip jar was about full of $2 bills in honor of the 2nd amendment. I ordered cappuccino and cake, and SWMBO ordered Latte and cake. I dropped $2 in the tip jar, and the kid said, "Thank you for supporting the Constitution". The lady behind us popped her eyes wide open and exclaimed: "Did he say PROSTITUTION?" (I swear I ain't making this up) I explained the situation to her, whereupon SWMBO, true to form (bless her sociable little heart), started a 20-minute conversation with this total stranger.

Meanwhile, I went over to the counter to get the drinks. The girl gave me 2 cups and said "One <unintelligible babble> and one <more unintelligible babble with the word "grande" in front of it>, right ? (apparently, "grande" means medium in fufucoffeespeak) My answer was "damfino". I ordered the cappuccino because it was one of the few things on the menu that I had some idea what it was, and because it was mostly milk and I didn't want much coffee that late. It tasted ok, but it cost $3.75 and was about 20% air.

On the way home, SWMBO told me the lady she talked to was a middle school teacher who didn’t know what the Second Amendment was about. Sad.

That is just plain sad..... and she is teaching our kids!

Chris and I went last night. Neither of us drink coffe, but I got a very expensive but lovely hot chocolate. As we only have one gun Chris was the one OCing. It was his first time.. So the poor fellow was super nervous, but he did great. Hoping to soon have another weapon so that when we are apart one of us is not dependent on pepper spray and a pocket knife.

How many want to place bets Starbucks will submit another "anti-gun" rally sometime in the near future to capture the profits that they received on Valentine's day?

I was reading something earlier this morning, and I can't recall where, that the boycott was an ongoing thing; it just started yesterday. If there be truth to that, perhaps we may wish to keep some $2 bills around for the occasional purchase of over-priced, mediocre coffee.

Incidentally, the Starbucks next door to my store was jam-packed with everyone that I normally see there, all day long. Apparently, no one in the area of that particular location was aware of the boycott or the buy-cott, except myself and those that I told.

I wasn't aware of a boycott either, I, being sometimes too impressionable, just saw a bunch of people on facebook promoting it so I stopped in.

Do recall some Doonesbury strips poking fun at OC'er in Starbucks maybe a year or so ago. Didnt think anything of it then. Guess it pisses some anti-gunners off?

I sure went and I might go again. The antis need to protest more so I have a reason.

Yep! Went, and got a $2.05 cent cup of coffee, and when the clerk gave me my change, held itup, and said "A pro Gunner just tipped ya'll $17.95. Remember that!"

He looked sheepishly shocked.
