Iran is a bastion of calmness, stability, and reason compared to Pakistan.

Would they use them in an offensive capacity? I don't think so, remember, this nuke business from them started shortly after we "regime changed" their neighbor Iraq.

I think they feel they need nukes to stay safe. Ironically trying to get them has had the opposite effect.

I don't know that I'd sign off on that, but I agree it would be a safer world if Pakistan didn't have nukes. But the thing is, they already have them. That does not make a case for allowing Iran to get them, too. (Assuming, arguendo, that that we can stop them)

Not so sure I'd sign off on that "bastion of calmness, stability and reason" deal just yet either. A lot of oppresive regimes look like that from the outside.

And why would this nuke business start after we "regime changed" Iraq? Iran hadn't invaded anyone, what did they stand to lose?

Pakistan is heavily controlled by its Army, who houses alot of Al-qaeda people. Theres a great deal of tension between it military elite and the civilian rulers, its dirt poor, corrupt as hell, and Islamic fundamentalism is always on the rise.

Iran is relatively modern and has a more educated populace and more friends on the world stage like Russia and China.

They even have female..whatever the Iranian equivalent of NASCAR drivers are:

They were listed under "axis of evil" remember? Iraq, Iran, and North Korea.

Words, believe it or not have consequences. Their nuclear (bomb-they had a peaceful nuclear program since the late 50's-provided by the US) program started in 2002..the January 2002 state of the union address was the "axis of evil" one.

Coincidence? I think not.

They probably figured they were next, so, uranium enrichment began.

I saw today Obama ordered all account activity with the Iranian Central bank frozen, so, I mildly suspect the first "shot" was just fired in WW3.

I'm all a titter with anticipation.

Iran used to be an ally, once upon a time; that would explain the US provided nuclear program. We can thank Jimmy Carter for creating an enemy out of them.

Naw, not just Carter, the Soviets had their fingers in that pie too. Actually the CIA and the KGB are responsible for modern day Iran thanks to their puppet regimes. It was actually a really cool place as I understand prior to the 1979 revolution.

And now we have.....modern day Iran. I wouldn't want to live there, I'm just saying compared to their neighbors they are more modern and I have more faith in a nuclear Iran than I do in a nuclear Pakistan...but that's not much.

On a scale of 1 hey theyre totally cool and 10 I think I heard the missiles launch just now, I'd give Pakistan a solid 9, and Iran a respectable 7.5 curiously I give the US a noteworthy 5...never know when Obamas gonna finally snap and nuke the red states.

Yeah, I wonder about that, too. As I said, I'm really not comfortable with any of them having nukes.

I was fixxin to disagree with your giving the US a 5 on the nuke scale, then I read your reasoning. You may be right on that one, lol.
